As much as I agree with you on this issue Vita, it sure does seem odd that he's not at least active for this game....Why not designate him as the 3rd stringer and have him with a clipboard on the sidelines? Its not like our roster is SO damn talented that we couldn't afford to keep him active, or so you'd think...
Simple numbers game LTRF.

They already have 3 players of the 46 designated for the game day QB spot.

No. 1 Keenum, No. 2 Mannion, No. 3 Hekker.

Sure Hekker is already 1 of 46 due to his ST spot, but still that is 3 designates for a position that most NFL games only require 1.

Here's how most 46 game day rosters are made up.

21 Offensive side of the football: (2 QBs, 4 RBs, 7 OLs, 3 TEs/FBs, 5 WRs)

22 Defensive side of the football: (8 DLs, 7 LBs, 7 DBs)

3 Special Teams: (1 Kicker, 1 Punter and 1 Long-snapper)

I understand all of that, but for the #1 overall pick to not even be active? Not sure I've ever heard of that before, unless they're injured...

Honestly LTRF, I would be more concerned, from what we've known all along, if he was starting on Monday.

I think we give prudence an attaboy here.

Good to see Mannion made it tough on the staff to do so as well!

Those are good problems brother!

Well said

But you know me.. I want a starter with a 3rd round pick much less the #1 overall pick. :2cents: When do you say enough is enough with the "let's draft a guy and wait 2-3 years"??

Basically, I can't do shit about the trade except hope the fucker is the dude.

So I'll be patient

Right? I mean, what else can I freakin do...... be a bitch?

No! that's not me.

So that ain't Kool-Aide bro.

It's rolling with the punches

Speaking of punch, it was like a punch to the gut when that trade up hit.

Not that it wont work out but I'm not betting the farm, if you know what I mean. And I think there were other options that suited us better.

But what's done is done.

It doesn't change the facts that Goff might be a dude that can be the guy.

If that's the case, why challenge him with unnecessary circumstances when we have Case and Sean who are doing well in the system to this point?

Let the dude get it and then let's see where the dominos fall.

Vita you are one positive and patient dude.. Or you got the really good kool-aid.
And i agree, what's done is done... unless it's ground hog day every year. So wtf?

Pretty sure that's called insanity.

Like watching the same movie.

Some of us are tired of the movie.

And i know where the dominos are gonna fall. Same place they always fall.

Losers roll with punches for a fucking decade man. Winners land punches and can take punches. I don't like to lose and don't accept it.

We've sniffed 3rd place for the first time in many years. And using picks on guys like we have isn't going to change things.

it is not the coaches job to make Goff study. that is up to him

and for a guy that was touted as being a smart guy, I find it ironic that he can't pick up the Rams playbook which has to be the easiest one in the league to learn.

after all, most of the defenses know the Rams offense already for crying out loud.

and most of us fans can watching the games know what plays the Rams are running before they run it.

the coaches can't make Goff smarter, or make him more dedicated to studying the playbook, or make him read defenses/take a snap from center. that is all on Goff.

oh, and Wentz is looking good today, and he is coming from a D2 college team which supposedly puts him at a disadvantage to adjusting to the NFL.

Wentz looked mighty impressive in his debut against the Brownies! The O-line blocked pretty well and he was hitting WRs all day. Even tough passes were made to look simple with Wentz throwing.

That championship D2 team utilized a pro style offense, so Wentz was already comfortable with calling plays, line protections, taking direct snaps, all that stuff that Goff is still working on. When all of that is second nature, it's a matter of learning the new system and adapting to the speed of the game. Starting with the Browns and Bears is allowing him to ramp up to that speed, lol.

You just made the case for not doing the trade we did to take Goff shopson. Pretty compelling.

He just made the case for trading up to draft Wentz, not Goff

Once again, Snisher have missed the mark with this hair-brained idea.

...and? I wanted Wentz from the start. I do prefer Goff over the rest of the draft class. I don't think anyone was advocating trading up to #1 or #2, most thought maybe they could trade up to the Ravens pick at best. We were all shocked by the trade, but I understand the reasoning behind it. The Rams appear stuck in mediocrity, which keeps them from getting bad enough to get a top of the draft QB otherwise.

Next step is to get that QB ready and on the field. If Keenum continues like this, I may have to replace a broken TV in the near future.

Tennessee is looking pretty good right now as far as getting a high draft pick next year!
