Convinced that IKF may be traded this off season especially if we sign a FA SS. They may stick with Solak 1 more season while they wait for Duran to get here

IKF kind of fits that mold but wise have Hernandez too and now Davis W in AAA who may go that route
Going to have options pretty soon


Guess the magic question is have we seen enough to assess the guys this year to keep some and drop others or is more assessment needed

I really expect that whole side will be new.

Seems we should have a place for IKF. Hits for avg and owns a gold glove. Who else equals that? He doesn't necessarily have to play SS but could slide over to 2B if we hire a FA SS. He doesn't hit with power but is a good guy to hit in the 2 hole. He will be a FA in 2 yrs but could be extended if his performance demanded it.

Those qualities make him a good trade piece too

We could see 3 out of 4 infield positions with new starters. Jung at 3rd, FA at SS and maybe a new 1Bman and 2B will change probably in 2023

He is fine for the team now, but I want a better hitter for all the infield positions than we have currently before we get competitive. Foscue or Smith both have a good chance to be be better hitters.

We will need to make some trades and he would be a good candidate to trade, in ny opinion.

Every media or analyst type that I have heard addressing Jung, thinks he will be here Opening Day. It is certainly not just my opinion.

You are the only one I have ever heard mention the Rangers keeping someone off of the Opening Day roster because of service time issues, either now or before.

Here’s a list of catching prospects/players that are currently “blocked” by a decent mlb catcher or maybe available due to depth and could possibly be had for the right package. Catching will be hard to buy on the FA market because there ain’t much there. We can buy plenty of other positions though. And we have some depth. I say trade for a catcher.
