Halfway through Golden Son because I couldn't find anything else to read. The dialog still bothers me (seems simplistic and 2 dimensional) but I think I'm hooked. It's better than the first book so far IMHO.
Is Rothfuss only doing a trilogy? I feel like he's got a far ways to go to wrap up that upthe Red Rising series is good and will re-read at least the 5th book prior to the release of the final book in the second trilogy. Don't think I'll be itching to read the series again for several years, unlike books by Sanderson that I continually to back to, especially trying to figure out the subtle connections between them in the Cosmere.
Now if Rothfuss will finish his trilogy, I'd re-read the first two leading up to it again.

from what I can tell, I think it is personal. If I recall, it's an account of Kvothe's life told to the chronicler over the course of 3 days with each book covering each day of the story told. It's been almost a decade since the second book came out, which is more than twice the time between the first two releases. Not sure if he's burned out, other side projects, personal issues, writer's block, or combination, but do know he gets upset from time to time when fans ask him when he'll finish it.
Finally getting around to reading The Thorn Birds. I guess I read it to get it out of the way but I'm not a huge fan.
A million times better. Not sure if I've posted here but the Courtney series are my all-time favorite books. The new Wilbur Smith are unreadable and I finally reached the stage where I don't even buy them anymore. He didn't even write them.Wilbur Smith and his Africa are better with the Courtneys.

Can you even imagine if they released a movie that did justice to When The Lion Feeds or Blue Horizon? I'd pay anything to see those. At least a million.
With you on the Courtney series.
I think A Time To Die, where Sean hunts the rogue bull elephant and that Comrade Chin is a character would make a great movie.
But somehow they'd ruin it if they tried.

Hey, if you like Wilbur Smith, you'd also like the Peter Watt books! Peter Watt, no S. I also love every single book by E. V. Thompson. Between the three authors, I estimate I read 100,000 pages.

I had to resort to buying them all on Apple Books, but at least they have everything. The Frontier series by Peter Watt is excellent and every single book by E.V. Thompson is great, too! They're all about life in Cornish fishing villages, mostly in the 1800's.Carp.
I can find exactly one of each author at my library. From my search I think Watt might be the one I like more.

I much prefer real books but e-reading has some benefits, too. I buy most of my real books on eBay.I don't e-read...
I'll check out some used book stores.
