I still have Pierce Brown's second trilogy to start. Those will take me some time.Oh I know you did.
I've still got lots left before I run out so no panic here.

But I need a break from the sci fi books for a minute.
Reading a YA book called Nevermoor. A friend said it was really good, so why not. Should be a quick read.
a friend of mine from college who I want to sleep with convinced me to read a Victorian age romance novel.I've been doing the Prey series by Sandford and Wilbur Smith African adventure.

the first 3 were awesome. I met him at Comic Con last year, really nice dude. I will read just about anything he puts out now.I've read the first 5 and waiting for the release date for the 6th so I can re-read number 5 to lead up to it. Good series.
Just about to start the third book. Easily one of the best "working" fantasy writers going right now.Anyone ever read any Brian McClellan? I just started the Powder Mage Trilogy and I'm hooked. Really pretty good.
Coming up soon. September.Oh, and I should ask, anyone as excited as me about the just-announced Kingsbridge prequel coming from Ken Follett, set around the year 1000?
Red Rising is in no way a kids book. It's fucking gore and blood. If you are letting your kid read that...that's fucked up.Red Rising
I was jonesing for some Expanse and thought Red Rising might be something similar. Didn't even read the description before buying it. Had no idea it was a kids book and a Hunger Games rip off (I read the HG when my daughter asked me to 10 years ago... should have been titled "what we wore during the revolution".).
Still. It's not bad. I ended up enjoying it even if it's not the most original idea. I might have to do some homework to see if the story "grows up" or just continues to be a YA kids series. Undecided on whether to continue or not.
well apparently there is a mix of what it would be...Red Rising is in no way a kids book. It's fucking gore and blood. If you are letting your kid read that...that's fucked up.
and I would say it grows up...or at least stays about the same.
I don't think anyone categorizes the Red Rising series as a YA book.
