Was released today and is 1 year removed from making the pro bowl team? I get we drafted a few rookies to compete for the LG position but we are on the peak of our superbowl window maybe getting a vet player on a 1 year deal could be an idea? He was released because he wanted more money so who knows how much he would want

Reports: Eagles release OG Evan Mathis on Thursday : Fantasy News

Sounds like a opportunity , but seems he wants a wheelbarrow of money and right now money is tight for the Seahawks.

Let's see if we could convince him with a SB ring to make him lower his price.

It would be nice to have Mathis on the line, but he was hell bent on that pay raise. Someone will pay for him.

You would think, but he got cut because he insisted on a raise and he was getting well paid, paid better then the Seahawks can afford, a raise would be out of the question. Players get delusional about their worth, everybody think their worth more then they are making. Course this is true even for your average Joe, human nature and all.

Nothing long term. But he could land a nice 2-3 yr deal.
More then 5.5 he was due? Don't know about that. For a guard that's good money. Maybe someone like the Raiders who have tons of cap space and nowhere to spend it?

I think he could get more than that. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make 8 mil or so this year.

Is he that good? I really didn't think any guard right now is worth that kind of money, and who is going to pay it? Not the Seahawks, that's for damn sure.

He's pretty good. And teams will get desperate for good FAs after TC starts.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I have my doubts about your predictions, but we will see.

My prediction on this is he lands with KC and reunites with Andy Reid.

Well if he wants 8 mill then we should tip our cap to him.

If he want 5 million then we should be talking to him. His presence alone would be worth it.

Guys, wake up.
My guess is this guy is not what you think he is.
Why would Philly cut him instead of trading him for anything, even a 7th? His cap hit is quite small considering some of you think he is worth 8 million.
Ain't gonna happen. We will not pursue this guy unless for camp competition.

He will probably that the largest contract offered, thing is I doubt he gets all that large of a contract. He won't be out of work long. I guess he may sign with SF so he can announce his retirement.
