Meh, I would probably put Denver at 1, and Seattle / Carolina at 2 and 3, SF at 4- but all 4 of those teams are pretty interchangeable if you take the last few weeks into account. I think Arizona is better than Cincy, Indy, and NO right now and would be favored to beat those 3 teams on a neutral field.

Russel Wilson was *14-0 at home.

This asterisk thing is old already but in the spirit of today let me give you one back.

Seattle sacked Rodgers 7 or 8 times in the first half of that game but Green Bay had *zero holds in the second half.

Games over. Score is never going to be changed. You will be able to look back at the 2012 NFL season twenty years from now and it will stay Seattle won that game. All the asterisks in the world won't change it.

Broncos lost their 2nd best player and they are #2? Wut?

Saints and Bengals can't play on the road. Shouldn't be above Cardinals.

It's the Andrew Luck, everybody drop on your knees and suck his dick syndrome. I can't stand the love he gets. Arizona is one of the hottest teams in football and should be feared because of that defense.

So Seattle loses at home to the Cardinals and they stay #1, no movement. Back when the Seahawks were mediocre I believed that ESPN was super biased against the Seahawks but this really surprises me. They don't even drop after how badly the offense looked against the Cardinals.

But that is not what stunned me, what stunned me is that the Cardinals dropped one spot in ESPN's power rankings after beating the NFC's best team at home. Coming into that game Seattle was 14-0 with Russell Wilson at QB at home, and the Cardinals get no credit for beating the Seahawks in the NFL's most difficult stadium to win in?

NFL Power Rankings Week 17 - National Football League - ESPN

ESPN do you even logic?

And this is why they are known as ESPN/TMZ !
This is great work, seriously this ass clowns couldn't poll there way out of a closet!:L

Spoken like a fan that isn't familiar with that rivalry. That game was the Redskins Super Bowl. They have "hate week" leading up to that game every year. The team, the fans, even their local media get up for that game. This isn't to say Dallas is great, but the Skins don't exactly have a "hate week" for anyone else. If they go 1-15, that's the game they gotta have.

Believe me, I'm very familiar with it and the "rivalry" has nothing to do with this. The Skins are awful and the Cowboys are terrible defensively but the cowboys should only go up that far in the rankings if they blow out the Skins and even then it's suspect. Their jump was only about the ESPN idiots sucking up to Jerry and co. My comments were just trying to show how bad this thing is along with that idiotic drop in ranking for AZ.

Power rankings are for idiots. They hold no value at all. My advice is to not be an idiot. No offense.

Like everyone seems to be in agreement on, these things really don't matter anyway. It aint the NCAA. But, if I were to be giving the Cardinals an honest ranking, they would be neck and neck with San Fran right now. I don't buy into Cincy at all and the Colts beat the Chiefs in KC but the Chiefs really haven't played that well lately other than beating up on the cellar dwellers. They have lost 3 home games since their 9-0 start. Not very impressive. Oh well, with the season coming to an end, this stupid power ranking thing can go with it. Maybe we'll get lucky and ESPN will blow up before next season. (Maybe I went a little to far there, huh. lol)

The only thing power rankings are good for is water cooler/message board discussion. If you win the SuperBowl you are the best team in the NFL, no matter what the power rankings say. This is not the BCS, so what the sportswriters think is meaningless.

Not reasonable at all, if all 3 teams have impressive wins, then they should at the very least, be left where they were. The obvious ESPN bias for the so-called "America's team" was front and center too, I see. The Cowboys had the highest jump (3 places) by barely squeezing out a win over the lowly Skins. Before anybody jumps all over me for that statement, yes, they rallied in the 4th qtr and won and it's a nice story but it was the freaking Skins. They should have never had to rally.

Romo got hurt. That alone is worth a significant jump.

Both these teams stink, it doesn't make it any more of an impressive win simply because of the rivalry. Perhaps within those two fan bases (though I think both of them have much bigger concerns) it's a very relevant win but league wide it doesn't mean a whole lot. This isn't college where one win against a rival can make a season,if you go 1-15 and that one came against a mediocre rival, good luck keeping your job.

Its all just there so Stephen "I can say n**ger as many times as I want and nobody will fire me" A. Smith and Skip "my opinion means absolutley nothing thats why I am on a morning show" Bayless can see who talks louder when arguing it.

:laugh3:lol, but did anyone know that when they made up those stupid rankings? :suds::suds:

He was supposedly visibly hurt during the game. I couldn't tell you if he finished it out, though.

I still don't get why (1) anyone gives a warm, spicy crap about power rankings and (2) why they rile up so much discussion every freeking time.

Depends, how spicy are we talking about here?
