Sports illustrated: ISU rhodes explodes after bad call, UT wins
mentions the fumble in the first few lines

foxsports: after tough call, ISU rhodes blows up in postgame
mentions the fumble in the first few lines

ESPN posts two different stories "ut wins" & "mccoy rallies"
their first lines: a win is a win no matter how ugly, mack brown praises

doesnt mentions the fumble until halfway through the article and does so to make it look like only hardcore ISU fans think the refs got the call wrong.

i dont have a dog in this fight but could ESPN not make things so blatantly obvious that they have a $300 million investment in a certain school

Didn't know Texas was a SEC team.

the bias extends to the entire SEC + texas
-
I guess 3 of 3 announcers calling it a fumble was pure bias. Only Greene said he did not think there was evidence to overturn it. The Bachelor was hammering Texas all game.

what better displays the agenda of espn???? how an announcer announces the game? or how espn reports the game on TV & online.

Is Texas still D1? I haven't seen them around in a while...

I know ESPN had some D2 coverage the last few years... that is why I ask.

question is, which was the more blown call? Wisky/ASU or ISU/Texas?

I'm not sure it was that bad a blown call.

His forward progress was clearly stopped. The play was over. A guy stripped the ball out, it's not like he put it on the turf. The refs felt the play was over, and called it dead.

I could see if he had clearly dropped the ball or something, but a strip is a judgement call for the refs. It's not cut and dry.

That said, I really wish Texas would have lost. Losing this game, then getting a beatdown next week would GUARANTEE Mack Brown gets the boot.

So now we have to quantify bias to your standards. Got it.

Wisky without a doubt. The fumble seemed obvious but you could make a small argument for the refs' call on the field. There's nothing at all that defends the developmentally disabled crew from the Wisky/ASU game.

SO the announcers and sportscenter anchors questioning the call are not part of the agenda? They are a TV channel. What is more important? The main product or the tertiary product? Hmmm, that is a hard question. They were more than fair in that aspect. You are just reaching. I am guessing you did not hear it, because if you did you would not have such an ignorant post about this game.

It was a bad call. Had they said forward progress was stopped, I would have agreed with you. There is an argument that would have been the correct call. Refs said down by contact, which changed the argument.

It was a blown call, but it wasn't that bad really. If I were an Iowa St fan, I'd be pissed about it, but at the same time I'd have to realize they were on the goalline for a reason. The PI and other calls I thought were legit. One even went against Texas.

If this is bias, then what about the fact that all of these sources wrote that Stave "attempted" to take a knee? Does Arizona State own these guys?

I think that is pretty fair. Most think it was a fumble, but the video evidence is not overwhelming. In the pantheon of bad calls this is a pretty minor case.

The play that I saw on ESPN's website is worthless. I can't even see the fumble.

So I wonder if Rhodes gets disciplined by the Big XII for criticizing the refs in a presser?

That's a :nono:

6 PIs on the last drive killed isu more than the "fumble"...

:agree:

It is always funny how fans point to one bad call or missed opportunity... but the game is 60-90 plays for each team... what about the other 20 times you screwed up?

Although the last big play always sticks with us... games are won or lost over the full 60 mins.
