do we know what his budget is? i know i don't.

From what JD said at the time the 2014 budget was going to be close to the 2013 budget. They went slightly above. So yes, it was and is fairly easy to ascertain what the budget is going to be based on what JD said.

Elvis:

He said Saturday that he plans to report to spring training in February weighing between 195 and 200 pounds. He reported at 218 last February.

Dropping the weight should be a key to regaining some lost range and his ability to steal bases. By virtually every advanced metric, Andrus has displayed the worst defensive range of his career. On the bases, his 65 percent stolen base percentage is a career worst. He has been caught stealing an AL-worst 14 times.

“His numbers this year aren’t too different from what he’s done in the past,” Bogar said. “He’ll be what he is if he wants to stay what he is. That’s up to him. I think he can be a better offensive player. I think we can get that swing more consistent.”

Seems Mr Bogar has a plan on getting the best - maybe it's just better - outta EA than we've seen in the past.

Won't matter if he cannot get on base...Needs to learn to take walks again and hit the ball to right field. His bat speed sucks.

no you can not assume based on this season's budget that the 2015 budget will be the same. you are good at making assumptions like this without any basis. you assume that no FA pitcher will ever sign with the Rangers because of the past and now you are assuming that Ranger ownership will be satisfied with the product they fielded this last season and not up the ante to make the additions needed by this team. you may, repeat may be right but i don't agree. i refuse to make any assumption about this

No team plays their best game every week. And your team won ugly. But the key operative word is WON.

At W Vir is a tough place to play and maybe you've gotten your bad game outta of the system for the rest of the year.

True enough.

I'd like to see him get moved down in the order and then he won't be a position to hurt us so much by not getting on base or hitting to right.

But my biggest concern is his defense. He needs to become the SS everyone envisioned him to be 4 years ago, and I'll be a happy fan.

Give me a terrific defensive SS I can live without his bat.

Trevor Knight had a very average game. Zack Sanchez was clearly playing hurt and had an awful game. Actually, our entire secondary got burned way too often in the first half, but I have to applaud how they got it together in the second half and shut them down.

But our O-line and Samaje Perine were fucking beasts last night. 242 yards, and four touchdowns on 34 carries. Guy just turned 19 this week. Unbelievable.

I said all week I'd take any win in Morgantown. That is one tough place to play. West Virginia is a good team. I'm just glad we played game where we clearly weren't at our best and still won like that. Now we get a couple weeks to heal up.

In not assuming that the budget will remain close to what it is you are assuming that it will be higher. It is an assumption either way. So we are both good at making assumptions. You just seem to have a problem with my assumptions.

You like to say that mine has no basis, but the assumption I made about going after top flight starting pitchers is based on both 40 years of history and on words I heard JD say after the negotiations to sign Cliff Lee failed. My assumptions on the budget are based on words I heard JD speak less than 12 months ago. Those seem like reasonable basis to me. I guess you have a different standard than I do.

Your assumption seem to be based on "I hope so" and "I wish". I had the same hopes and wishes myself at this point last year until I heard what JD had to say a few weeks later. I hope as a fan and in my heart that you are right, but my mind tells me not to get my hopes up.

Hopefully, the weight loss will correct that.

Seriously, Profar still has shoulder soreness. No way he sees the majors next year. Any thoughts of trading Andrus are pretty much bye bye. Elvis has to step it up now.

His weight is unlikely to affect the shitty throws

Ain't anybody gonna score in this game!

Glad you enjoyed the Boys game!
Someone will but when nobody knows. Must have been a problem getting out of ST. Louis. Not many here yet.
