I care about the long term future of this franchise and if wanting the first pick which would give us the BEST chance at an impact player makes me a loser, then so be it.

We all want the first pick but let the season play out. If we get it fine but quit whining and wishing to lose.

Lot will determine how Arizona plays and they played horribly against Colorado.

Not really how it works in baseball. The drop off after the first few picks is huge. Plus there is other stuff you get for having the worst record. Having first pick in the rule 5 draft, more money for international signs, biggest draft bonus pool, and waiver priority over the off season. It's not just the first pick.

There is usually a big difference between the first pick and the third or fourth picks.

Not really. There might be 3 players who could go number one. That's not a huge deal of variance. For sure the two biggest are an OF and a SP. Daz Cameron and Mike Matuella.

Thanks Rev. But certain folks are concerned about us losing games. The Ranger coaches, players, especially the youngsters do not want to lose to gain #1 pick. So to those that do, let it play out because they can't control all the variables.

Sure it is good that the team is playing better, but make no mistake about it, for the future it would be much, much better if we lost all of the rest of our games and got that first pick. Losing now and getting the first pick vs. winning now and getting the 3rd or 4th pick is no contest whatsoever. Ironically, the winning that is happening now is just one more bad thing that is happening to this franchise in 2014. It fits right in with all of the other misfortunes that we have encountered this season. Give me a Strausburg, Price, Harper or Cole over a Sanchez, Moskos, Colon or Bundy even it it would have had to mean losing 100 games.

Well, I frankly don't give a damn what Jake Smolinski wants. I want what is best for the organization, and the worst record at this point is the best for organization. Tim doesn't need to win games to win the job. Pride is really overrated.

I would be a whole lot more pissed if this draft has a Stras in it...I would be losing my mind.
