Hard to give the Patriots any low grade for this. Bennett played okay for the Eagles and was limited largely in snaps. He's 34 but can be cut at any time with zero cap hit. He's still a great run defender and can put pressure on QBs. I'd have to imagine his involvement will be limited similar to Philly given the # of snap counts he racked up with Seattle, but given the Pats are moving back only 2 rounds while they have 3 3rd round picks, it's whatever... Even if cut prior to the season... whatever.

Pats are making a final push with Brady so adding some talented rushers to bulk up a defense that needs help (especially if Flowers walks) is important, despite the age.

That said, I can't really fault the Eagles for this either. They're in a much different situation than the Pats with a younger roster/QB. They can think a little more longer term and while a 5th over a 7th is not HUGE, it's certainly something for nothing since it's fairly obvious the Eagles would've released Bennett regardless.

In addition, Eagles were barely outside the top 10 in age heading into 2018. Patriots were bottom 5. No reason for the Eagles to not get younger and for the Pats to acquire last minute resources for a final Brady push. Why not? The roster will have to be overhauled anyway once Brady/BB retire and Kraft is getting corn holed.
