Love this move. Didn’t have to spend much in the way of capital to make it happen either. Eagles have been banged up there. This should help to solidify the back end with the Milk Check when he comes back from the cheap shot.

Makes sense. Titans probably dont need an aging star player. Good short-term play on the Eagles part. Probably win-win.

Smart trade on the Eagles part. Roseman always seems to make key moves/trades that only better his team. He's one helluva GM.
His story arc is a fun story. Brought along as boy wonder under Eagles capologist Joe Banner. Stayed on with Andy Reid after Banner left. Worked his way up to Andy’s GM when Andy was really the GM. Stayed on and hired Chip Kelly who stabbed him in the back and had Howie deported out of the GM role. Kelly fails and Howie comes back tougher than ever having worked on his craft after his demotion. Crafted the 2017 team. Rebuilt after Wentz went to shit and has the Eagles primed to compete again. Great story of overcoming adversity.

After AJ Brown, I’m surprised that their organization even has the balls to pick up the phone when a 215/610/267 exchange comes through.

Howie made a lot of mistakes, but it is fascinating that Jeff Lurie kept him around long enough for him to grow into the job and become a good GM. He's now arguably the best in the game. There is a lesson there for owners in having continuity and stability. The Steelers have been great at this over the decades and perhaps not coincidentally have been a consistently winning franchise. It all starts with ownership.

Byard is a 'rest-of-the-season' rental for the Eagles. Byard is being paid $11M in 2023 and the Eagles are only paying $2.444M of that. Byard is due $14.1M in 2024, with no guarantees, so he's unlikely to remain with the Eagles without a substantial re-do.
