First off, no way will teams be keeping JUST 8-12. This is dynasty which IMO means we are keeping the majority of our roster. My suggestion is to keep 15 of the 18, and increase the rosters to 20 next year.
I good with that, but could of swore that we had decided to keep 13 and throw 5 back. I'm good however we do this. I like the idea of a bigger roster.

OK guys I'm going to show my ignorance reference next years draft. First, is there a limit as to how many players you keep or throw back ? Second, let's say team 1 keeps 12, and team 2 keeps 8. Does team 2 draft 4 players before team 1 picks ? Is there a separate rookie draft ? Way early but just wanted to know how it works.

I really hope we expand. I don't want to drop anyone at the moment. If we were to drop three, it would be my K and two DST. I think we dropped the ball on the number of players to draft.

the one thing im not in favor is only drafting 18....and then, adding players next year , planned already....whats the point? why didnt we just do it now?

also, its 8 weeks away......lock the rosters, lock trades, and pick the draft back up in the snake order we had, and draft out a few more rounds, can even do it on here, and have mcro add them, just expand the roster size .....

I would think there's a waiver draft for those that didn't keep the max, then a rookie draft for all.

Just a guess.

Judging from responses, I feel better now knowing I'm not a total moron for asking the questions.
Answer as of now is: no one really knows. ....

Micro isn't sure Fantrax allows for changing the roster size after the draft, so that would kill that idea right there. If they do, I'm for it, but seems some folks don't like the idea of changing the rules once we have begun. Guess they feel that perhaps they would of drafted differently with a larger draft. For example rather then picking that kicker in round 17 or 18 they would of drafted someone else. IDK...I like the idea of expanding roster size, but not if it upsets other members.

agreed, but , i hate to say we told you so, but many were against larger rosters, having not done dynasty, now you can see where it comes into play, its different, its supposed to be large rosters, guys late in the draft your digging trying to find those gems, who can you outsmart, what guy did you see in college you think can really translate when given a shot

If we ever do something like this again (and I bet we will) I am going to vote that for the first year the commish makes and establishes all the rules and opens up change options for the following season. That way we get a sense of what each of us likes and doesn't like.

As far as this season goes, I think I also made a mistake by not voting for an IR slot, but I have no problem playing the "rules hand" that is dealt me. Imo, changes should be made for next season.

I'm pretty sure we make changes next season. We are on a learning curve here.

I was doing it for the playoff league that we did, so we should be able to, if of course, that is what we want...

I am a strong proponent of once the year starts (and IMO it started when the draft started) you do not change the rules. Now I am open to all discussions for future years that help the league.

I voted for 18, I believed and still do that your roster in a Dynasty should be twice the size of your starters. 9 starters ergo 18 total players.

Right, but I'm saying the changes should come next season, not this.

Like I said, as much as I would like larger rosters and feel we missed the boat here, I'm good with waiting until next year. Already heard enough to know that some here definitely don't want rule changes mid stream.

And from these simple rule questions we've gone off to roster size changes ???. ..... interesting.

I think they go hand in hand....kinda....sorta.

But if u want an answer, I gave one a couple pages earlier. A dynasty, IMO, means keeping the majority of your roster. I suggested keeping 15 of ur 18.

As commish, I have no problem stepping up and making it set in stone. However, I've tried including everyone into the set up of this league and don't want that to change now.
