I'm just curious as to who is everyone's top 10 overall players in a dynasty format? I like seeing different opinions on this even though there's probably a large chunk of the top 10 that are consensus, just in different orders.

I would probably give Correa the slight edge over Seager due to offensive team and ballpark...

Here's how I look at it:
1. Mike Trout (obviously)
2. Kris Bryant
3. Manny Machado
4. Jose Altuve
5. Paul Goldschmidt
6. Corey Seager
7. Giancarlo Stanton
8. Carlos Correa
9. Wil Myers (if he can stay healthy)
10. George Springer.

Maybe Harper instead of Springer or Myers at the bottom end of the top 10.

Obviously they all "need to stay healthy", I just put that on Myers because it seems like a more reasonable concern with him.

Why Stanton and no harper?? if both are injury risks how not the one who had one of the best seasons of all time??

I am not high on myers at all, he is not even in my top 25...

I wasn't avoiding Harper because of the injury risk. I just think he's overrated. Although I admit, part of the reason is if I were a real GM I wouldn't want him around because of his attitude. So I probably did that partly on real-life GM decisions, and not fantasy. So I probably should have at least included Harper in there. You don't like Myers even if he's healthy?

Even if Myers stays healthy, he doesn't touch my top 25...

things to realize, last year MLB hit the 2nd most HRs EVER... that's right, 2nd ever and that includes the steroid era... and 700 more than last season... So to think any Career best HR seasons will get better in HRs is a stretch.

So I highly doubt Will myers can get to 30 HRs... then, you have to say he is on a bad offensive team who plays in a ball park that is at BEST neutral for hitters... To think his RBIs will go up is also a stretch...

AND we are talking about a player who has not hit .260 or above in his past 3 seasons, and until this last season hasn't had over 400 PA... So really how much can his BA even improve, I don't see him being a .270 hitter, at least not yet... and his SO% is just too high to see that immediate improvement...

and unlike other players who have similar numbers, he is eligible at deeper positions, so he DOES NOT get the positional scarcity bonus.

People love him this season because they see him as a base stealer at a position where there are not many base stealers... But so what if the rest of his numbers are not going to be even close to a first rounder(or even a top 25 player)...

As you can tell, I would pass on him until probably the 5th round... and then MAYBE I would take him...

Yeah, that does make sense. Although it's still far from a certainty I tend to have more confidence in someone's ability to keep up the good numbers when they have a high-pedigree coming out of school, like Myers does. Still no guarantee though. And you're spot-on about all those extra HR's hit as a league last year. I noticed that myself...any idea why there was so many hit last year or was it just a fluke?

The main 2 factors:
1. Hitters are more willing to strike out now as long as they SMACK the ball
2. Weather- it was a very mild april, so the cold was not a big factor.

But even with that, it shouldn't have been THAT high... and likely wont be again this season... I am expecting at least 300 less HRs this season... that is at least 10 per team(which is at least one per lineup slot) on average...

I know you are not high on kershaw but I am surprised that someone who is so pitching dominant would not have him in his top 10. Also surprised scherzer was so high due to his age.

But always interesting seeing your rankings since you are definitely a pitching first guy. Also, your rankings IMO show why you love H2H points leagues so much.

Edit: forget what I said about kershaw. I can't read.

Heard some stuff on Myers the other day. How, in TB they tried to change his approach at the plate. Him being a cocky m'effer wanted nothing to do with it. SD let him be and he got his mojo back. Then, his cockiness returned and he slumped the end of the summer away.

I like him.... top 10, 25? Nah, I'm with Milk.

Arenado has to at least be in the top 5, imo.

He is an absolute beast.

Format absolutely matters... I know in H2H points I am more willing to go pitcher strong than I would be in rotisserie...

again, last year was the second Highest Home run total of all time... that includes all the steroid era seasons... you gotta think that last season is somewhat of an outlier...

We had over 5600 HRs, last time we had over 5000 was 2009 and that was 5042...

2015 (4909) had 700 more than 2014 (4186) which was the low point since 1993 (4030) It really does bounce all over the place:suds:

Sure it bounces, but it has only been over 5000 11 times in baseball history... and only 3 times over 5500... 10 of those 11 seasons were steroid era seasons...

so it is pretty safe to say it will go down... I wouldn't be surprised if it was over 5000 again, but I would be SHOCKED if it was over 5300
