Reid is a player, no question but no issues here....I screamed for quality center for as long as I've posted on internet football forums and we sure got quality in Fred.

There are a lot of good centers in the league right now, but I think if you take health and ability both in to account he is the best center in the NFL going into next year

Boys got a starting Pro Bowl Center & #2 WR out the deal. Not bad....
IN HINDSIGHT the deal was very good. Not the point about determining value. We got bent over a table on that deal. Luckily our scouts still made it work. I just have so much faith in them right now, which is one of the reasons why I would pretty much be fine with anyone they pick in the first couple of rounds.

I agree. This trade worked out fine, and in truth, even though we ended up "losing" the trade up for Mo Claiborne, the logic was still sound. If Mo had turned out to be Champ Bailey(or even Patrick Peterson), it would have been viewed as a steal. Mo was considered the #1 CB by practically every pro scout. Sometimes you lose to runner runner dueces into 4 of a kind, doesn't make playing a Full House a bad play

I remember sitting on my couch shocked when they traded up. The pundits thought they were moving up for Fletcher Cox, wouldn't that have been nice...... I never really heard much of Claiborne, I thought Gilmore was the best CB in the draft.

I don't remember talk of trading up for Cox. I remember it was either Mo or Barron when we did it.
If we stayed at 14 we probably take Weeden...haha...

I don't remember too many complaints about the trade for Claiborne because most were very happy with the pick.

I thought we had cox. I really wanted him. I did not know much about Claiburn, but he was projected as #1" CB. Wow was Dallas unlucky with him. One of the biggest draft busts in team history imo

We did rebound in a huge way by taking Larry Allen with the next pick. Would have been sweet to have nabbed Isaac Bruce with that 1st rounder though....

Larry was a helluva athlete.

Jerry Jones said Larry could have made a really good living writing greeting cards. He has the most beautiful handwriting Jerry has ever seen. Just a little jewel most don't know about Larry.

I was listening to a sports talk show last week and they said the problem with Carr is the amount of money he's being paid. They talked about on a league wide scale, Carr was average to good. They pointed out how he hadn't missed a game since his arrival in Dallas.

I tend to agree.
