Another gem by Harrison at Richmond, 5 innings, 2 hits, one run, 3 walks, 7 k's.

Throw out the disastrous start on 6/3 (where 2 or 3 inherited runners were allowed to score), Harrison's ERA for Richmond is 2.45. He is walking 4.5/9 innings, and striking out 13.5/9 innings. Needs to stretch out a bit innings wise and cut down on the walks, but he is doing seriously well as a 20 year old in AA!

Good signing!

Not a pup anymore. She was allegedly 2 when I got her, and that was 4 years ago. She has a gray mustache and beard now…
Nice. My six year old black and white Cocker Spaniel has gray on the inside of his black ears. Vet says that often happens. We still walk 4-5 miles a day. Dogs are great.

Thrill was just on KNBR and he was GUSHING about Brown. Said flat out, “This kid will be a major leaguer.” He also mentioned Casey Schmidt, but only after prompting.

I'd love to hear how Brown went from afterthought in college, to 10th round pick as a 5th year senior to a minor league stud dominating pitching. Yes, he was a bit older (3 years than the average) that most players were in low A ball and is still for high A ball (about 1.5 years older than average) but a 10th round pick who never got drafted before 2021 typically don't even hit in rookie ball. He seemed to turn things up a notch in the abbreviated 2020 college season and hasn't looked back.

Super rare, yes. But not completely unheard of. Piazza and Pujols are just 2 EXTREME examples of complete draft day afterthoughts that ended up becoming HOFers (I feel safe calling Poo Holes a HOFer).

So, is it a bit early to call Vaun Brown a no doubt Hall of Famer too?

The path has already been blazed. It will be his fault if he doesn’t follow it.

However, Poo Holes was a 13th rounder and Piazza was a 62nd rounder. Brown was an 10th rounder. He should be BETTER than Poo Holes and Piazza.
