That’s my point. He’s living up to the name. Outman is a much better name for a pitcher
Okay, I understand what you were trying to say. I thought you were trying to come from the direction I was about Martin changing his first name because of the sudden power surge.

OF Wade Meckler is set to begin a rehab assignment with the ACL Giants. He appeared in only 2 games this season with Sacramento, recording 3 hits in 5 at-bats.

And was never listed on their IL either.

Either there are not many pitchers with enough innings or the PCL is really killing pitcher's ERA. Either way, lots of fun stuff on this list.
Nice to see the RiverCats have the number 2, 5, 6 and 8 guys.
Plenty of Carson's to go around (yet too bad Ragsdale couldn't make the list).
Also interesting to see a former Giants around out the top 10.

Argenis Camaya is off to a pretty strong start in the ACL, posting a 0.79 ERA with 17 strikeouts against 4 walks in 11.1 frames this year. Good command. Mid-90's fastball with a slider and occasional changeup. Looks like he even mixed in a sweeper as well.

I forget how early the ACL starts now. I'm still used to a late June start.

Only 4 batters have posted an OPS of .800 or better thus far with the RiverCats. Of those 4, 2 are injured and a 3rd is no longer in the organization. The 4th just recently got signed. These 4 have played a combined 21 games with the RiverCats.
Basically, the only regular to hit at or above .800 was David Villar and he is now a free agent.
The closest regular to .800 is a late minor league signing formerly from the Royals' organization (who acquired him from the Dodgers) - Devin Mann. He started the year with Richmond and quickly got moved up, where he has posted a .792 OPS with the RiverCats in 72 PAs (16 games). He spent the entire offseason looking for a deal and finally got one with the Giants in late April.

One pitcher with San Jose to watch is Hunter Dryden - a little advanced in age for low A ball, he's started 7 games with the junior Giants and has posted a 1.16 ERA, 1.097 WHIP and 9.3 K/9. Given his age (23), I would hope the Giants move him up to Eugene soon to see how he does against players closer to his age.

Just peeked at the DSL Giants Orange game today against the DSL White Sox.

The White Sox gave up 15 walks with only three strikeouts, and allowed 21 runs (17 earned) on 13 hits (only two XBH, no homers)

I guess the umpires were being paid by the pitch in that game. The Giants gave up 8 walks.

In Sugarland, Eldridge is 1-2 with 2 walks in his 2025 debut in AAA.

Meanwhile, Richmond lost again. Seven starters tonight were hitting less than .210, and four were hitting under .200. Who is scouting these guys? And who is coaching them?
Those Richmond hitters are smart. Doing exactly what the big boys are doing in SF. Those guys will be here in no time.
