Why would anyone want to get off that contract? Again, fundamental misunderstanding of him
You are right. His numbers are more solid than I thought. His OPS+ is 20 points better than league average. This is what happens when I go off what I remember from two week old data. I can do better.

Why? To redeploy payroll if you go and get another star. Again, I'm not advocating, just saying that if they decide that the window of contention starts next year and not this it'd be a way to manipulate things. They could trade Chap, JV, Wilmer, Ray etc. and bring back assets and aim for 2026-2030 with a bright young staff.

Again, we just don't know what Buster wants to do. Likely, he wouldn't trade anyone. He's not made a trade yet.

I don’t think you understand Chapman and his role and how Posey views him but whatever. They are trying to contend now and going forward and he’s clearly the cornerstone, Posey has made that clear since he signed him even before he was GM lol

Oh, I think I do. Posey loves him and personally joined the negotiation to sign him. I don't think he'd trade Chappy and I don't want to trade him.

Just spitballing options if they want to shoot for the future.
