Vaun Brown joins Landen Roupp as SFGiants prospects from the 2021 draft class to reach Double-A in their first full season. That type of movement isn't common, but it happens.

Fun fact: the SFGiants is the only organization to feature multiple prospects who have a 20-30 season so far this year (Grant McCray with 21 HR and 35 SB, and Vaun Brown with 23 HR and 44 SB) Only six MLB organizations have one.

He seems to be a 5-tool guy. He has hit, power, speed…. Not certain where he sits defensively, though. But if his bat and speed translate, his LF defense should be at least passable. Fast guys usually are at least average defenders.

Eugene had an offensive outburst last night thanks to several big performances. Grant McCray: 3-6, HR, 3 R, and 3 RBI Luis Matos: 2-5, 2 R, and 2 RBI Patrick Bailey: 2-4, HR, 2 R, and 4 RBI

Matos has 9 hits in his last 3 games and is batting .310 in August. McCray had a strong High-A debut and Bailey has quietly had a nice season.

Nick Swiney (Euegene) had an excellent start last night: 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. He has a 3.11 ERA with a 2.59 SO/W ratio on the year

Landen Roupp (Richmond) was fantastic in his second Double-A start: 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts, and 6 groundouts. He filled up the strike zone with 72% of his pitches going for strikes

Outfielder prospect P.J. Hilson is heading to San Jose to make his full-season debut. Hilson capped off a breakout year in the complex with a walk-off single to secure the league title last night. He hit .313/.399/.591 with 16 2B, 6 3B, and 9 HR in 56 games.
