Hester was absolutely fantastic. If I'm drafting and someone guarantees me I can take the next Hester or the next Singletary I don't pause at making my decision and it isn't the return guy. Maybe I'm just a bigger fan of Singletary than you or a little older

The 3 top Vikings are obvious,

Tarkenton
Page
Eller

I can't argue against Randall McDaniel as the 4th, but point out that Moss, Carter Marshall and Randle would all be fine selections as well.

Ya, I don't think there was a team in the league that thought that way when lined up to kick it to him.

I get the argument, but I think Hester transcends, "just a return man', or "special teams".

When you are the best of all-time, at any position, you deserve mention.

I realized it may be an unpopular opinion, that's why I mentioned that I was "switching it up" in my OP, but Hester was a game-changer like no other before or since.
as rich as the bears history is. You would put a returner on your Mount Rushmore?
I am curious how many other bears fans agree with you? Then I will wonder how young those that agree with is.

I understand what @beardown07 is saying. Hester was an amazing return guy but it just didn't have that big of an impact on the total game that people want to believe. 2006, 2007, 2010, a handful of TDs but when teams kicked away from him, he was neutralized. People tend to remember the hilite reel and forget all the stuff in between, imo.

Nah man, it was the Bears moving him to WR cuz they were cheap that killed him.

His rookie season, he should've been an MVP candidate.

In his first 13 weeks of pro football, he had 6 return TDs. He had a punt return in his debut game, He had a 108 yd missed FG return that isn't counted in his stats. He had a game-winner against AZ, two kickoff returns in one game against St. Louis, and one that was called back on a phantom illegal block, against Seattle in the playoffs. And of course, housed the opening KO of the Superbowl.

Then followed it up the next year by breaking his own record.

The Bears then were forced to make him into a wide receiver to justify the salary his play commanded. It killed his return game.

Look, as I said, I realize it was an out-of-the-box submission, but just factored in the fact, that he's the best ever at his position, even if that is on Special Teams.

Very impressive no doubt. I see 5 TDs in 2006 for Hester. While incredible for a return guy, Ladainian Tomlinson had 31 TDs that year plus 2 passing TDs. 33>5. He also rushed for 1,815 yards and over 2,300 total yards. Still think Hester should have been MVP?

Did I say MVP? Nope, I said an MVP candidate. And I did that, knowing full-well some tard would come in and start comparing apples to dildos.

They're all coming down anyway.

But fuck anyway that thinks Calvin Johnson is one the four best Lions. You're dead to me.

I think that is a fair way to put it. In this case Tomlinson is the apple and Hester is the dildo.

His rookie season, he should've been an MVP candidate.

Considering the year Tomlinson had that year, I don't think anyone else was an MVP candidate. That might be the best season that any RB has ever had, if not it's definitely top 3 or 4.
