Yeah, you can't "save" a guy in the NFL. Then he's rusty when he does start playing.

Dude hardly played in preseason and he looked like he was shot out of the cannon in week 1 against Pitt.

I actually posted about this after seeing him in the Pitt game:

And boy did NE find a diamond in the rough with Dion Lewis. They will need to be REALLY careful with him as the season goes on with his injury history. Going to need to save some of those jukes and spins for the playoffs.

With a guy like Lewis you have to think outside of the box a little. They should have known he was unlikely to survive the regular season if you are putting him on the field 20+ plays a game.

But again for all we know, he blows his ACL walking up a flight of stairs in week 8 instead of playing in an NFL game if they limit him more.

Yup. You just can't plan a football season that way. But he was a lot of fun to watch. They didn't run him between the tackles much. Maybe that was BB's plan to take it easier on him? Didn't work, anyway.

Loved him at Pitt. Was hoping he stayed on with the Eagles when we had him in camp.

So, now one less weapon for Brady to throw his 5 yard dump offs and wait till the receiver takes it for 15-20 more yards.

There are a number of small running back types that have had great careers even when they come back from injury.

Medical surgery and rehab now is pretty amazing.

"its his ankle"

"no dad, he grabbed his knee before he hit the ground"

Weird but true that many seem to be able to walk off on ACLs :noidea:

Plug and Play positions on the Pats, RB and QB

Wouldnt be surprised if they kick the tires on Joseph Randle

Amendolas' best games have come with Lewis out, so Danny should see a lot more targets
