i would not be surprised to see cueto in NY or texas.. they are to big of markets to sit out the entire off season when they both need starting pitching.
I said from the start the tigers gave up way to much for soria.. i never liked that trade.
This is the thing.. when you draft high school arms with high upsides... it takes time for them to get there... Thompson has a big arm. He is dominating AAA. You will see him in Philly next year. I am going to puke if he ends up a legit #2. He never should have been traded.yeah, I can see that now but still there was no way you could guarantee that Thompson was going to be anything or shall we say will be anything, YET... he has to get to the show and at least be even decent like a #4 or #5. I know scouts said he had the potential to possibly be a #2 maybe and a huge maybe a #1..
lots of IFS in there... it's very difficult for these kids to make it to the show.. probably the most difficult position to make it in all of sports becoming a MLB SP (meaning a #2 or #1)
He is looking for 160mil+

Think about this for a second... The Tigers basically could have had Cole Hamels if they didn't trade him for Soria...
the fact that the giants signed a complete turd to a 90 mil deal... a 35 yr old got 15 mil a yr from the dodgers, and all the other ridiculous deals handed out.. I woudn't be surprised at all to see cueto get 25 mil per.that makes sense.. either of them.. dey B smart and wait it out
Thompson has 4 pitches that rate as above average... He is better than any pitcher the Tigers have in the minors... and on par with Norris. If the Tigers had him in the fold..it makes me want to puke.
Hamels isn't an ace in the AL.. but he is a very solid #2.meh. Smitty and I talked about Hammels. I'm not missing out on NOT getting him.
Thompson is only 21.. Most starters sniff the bigs around 24-25...he still has to come to MLB level and prove his worth.. it hasn't happened yet but there's time on his hands to make it happen
