And this is 2014, no one gets complete games anymore except roy halladay. Although IM not sure what happened to him, maybe he came in one too many times after 110 pitches thru eight. If managers were afraid to buck conventionalism I bet we would see many more halladays. Its just how baseball has evolved. Teams pay starters millions and millions of dollars and more often than not they pitch six to seven innings.

Roy retired at 36 years of age though. I think the move to the bullpen is more of a sign of believing in the guys you have out there. It's not like Ausmus brought in Coke or Putkonen. Nathan just didn't seal the deal. And Gonzalez just left it up to Kinsler to get this thing over with in the 10th.

Scherzer is an elite starter, he DID have it today. In any other situation in any other spot the choice would be the sure thing over the question mark. Someone coming out of the pen is always a question mark compared to someone that has been the sure thing. But its hard to believe you habe credibility on the subject when you have been tryimg to convince people how dominant the detroit pen is. Move on bro.

I think maybe people are overreacting a bit with bullpen concerns due to the blown save today by Nathan. Coke is a disaster waiting to happen, no doubt. I will give Joba time but I share your concerns.

I'm still Muzz, and the Bull Pen still sucks! I love Ian Kinsler though, think that's why I drafted him and you will never see putkonen, coke, or joba on my team......Gotta stick to my guns.

This is factual because my eye don't lie.....That dude is very fast. Stole a base on a perfect throw, legged a run out on a hard hit ball to the SS......

He is indeed fast.......Stats lie but his speed makes some in the league that are known for it slow.
