Good win.. I thought JV was going to get bombed after the HR, but he recovered nicely... The top 3 hitters on this roster are beasts atm.. Notice the top 3 teams in the AL have two guys mashing on the roster atm..

JV in a recent interview is again talking about mechanics, saying he's not repeating his delivery very well. The positive news is (1) It's Verlander, and he usually bounces back, and (2) there is nothing physically wrong with him.

No, at the time I originally posted about JVS ERA it was almost identical to his career ERA.

Yup i said that and thanks to an injury i was wrong. It wasnt so much the trade that bothered me. It was not getting a number 5 hitter. Look back on the thread before the season started i said the BP is garbage and i didnt like the 5-9 hitters. Kinsler hunter miggy vmart is a great top 4. But we need some kind of bat in the 5 hole. Ajax started out well but has cooled. Seems like every yr ajax starts out good. Tigers do good then when he struggles we struggle. Just wish we wouldve found a way to get cruz.


My whole prince argument is for the fans that love to hate him but yet they loved him when we first got him. I believe u were one of the few gvsu who didnt want prince. But my point is fielder struggled in the post season. What was it 10 games this year? Its baseball. All about timing. But yet JV can have 2-3 weeks of bad starts and people brush it off. But yet hes making alot of money like prince. Ive said it before. I wont talk shit about a player just because hes no longer a tiger. Other reasons? Yes. Like raturd or coke.

Well prince sucked so far this year pre injury as well. Respectfully, I think you would have been wrong anyhow as the tigers got that massive contract off of their backs and nabbed a 2b who is having an all star season in return. Yeah I immediately cautioned fans about the prince signing when it occurred due to the last half of contract but I was still excited to see him in Detroit. Honestly I said it last year and still feel this way. I almost always seemed to me personally that when fielder came to bat in an important situation I knew he would suck and he always did. When hes getting paid that much fans should expect him to come through and he rarely did when it mattered. Sure he would hit solo home runs or get ribbies in blow outs, but otherwise he was useless. I talked shit about prince when he was a tiger and still dont care for him. The difference between JV and prince imo is that JV has shown tigers fans the past eight years how dominant he can be, prince not so much. JV has won a cy young, has two no hitters, won an MVP, hes got some serious accomplishments.

You tell me....everytime im turning around a detroit fan is complaining about prince. Just makes tiger fans look like yankee fans. I blame the WHOLE team for losing last yr. ill say it again. If the pen doesnt blow game 2 tigers beat boston and win the WS. with or without prince hitting. The starters were locked in.

Yes, lack of clutch hitting and the pen were the main reasons detroit lost last year. The biggest goat in the lineup was Prince. Hes getting paid a shit ton more than just about everyone on the field and was awful. He definitely deserves a large portion of the blame too.

A free curly fries night for Tiger fans last night (3 HR). Hasn't happened much this year.

JV wasn't superb, but much better. 1 walk, 7 Ks, and threw about 20 fastballs at 95-97. The 2-run HR by Seager was on a pretty good pitch at the knees, he just went down and got it.

OMG Papa has been released by the Mets. Maybe, just maybe, there might be a spot for him in Detroit? His ERA was 5.66 at the time (which would fit in with the current BP) and his contract was only $2 mil. Time to think Dumbo. Should the lad deserve a third chance for glory?
