Starting to really lose faith in nathan. I think no matter who closes for detroit, they will always pitch like todd jones or papa fatso or matt anderson or fernando rodney. Were just jinxed at the closer. Why not let joba go out for the 9th? He didnt throw many pitches. Why waste a pitcher in a tie game late. Plus our closers never do well in non save situations.

I was thinking Krol should have started the ninth. But Im guessing Ausmus wanted to use his 8th and 9th inning guys in their normal spots. And now Krol comes in when were behind..... great.

Nathan will be on the DL with a "dead arm". Bank on it. In reality, he needs time away from the game. Badly.

Nathan's ERA is now 6.86. Phil Coke, perennial target for shit-slinging, is at 6.50.

Jose Valverde blew 11 regular-season save chances in 3-plus seasons for the Tigers. Nathan is on pace to blow 12 saves this season alone.

CLOWN of the GAME AWARD. Tonight the winner is Dave Dumbo rowski. Nathan has got to be the worst addition to the Tigers, EVER. Ausmus has let this team get away from him and that's that.

I blame Ausmus tonight, in addition to Nathan. Joba threw all of 9 pitches to get the Jays 1-2-3 in the 8th. He should have been back out in the 9th. Never agree with using a closer in a non-save situation unless the game goes extra innings -- especially when your closer is struggling like Nathan.

I don't blame Dombrowski, though. Nathan was coming off a great season, even at age 38 last year. I loved the signing when I heard about it.
