Denver wanted Keenum

Let's be honest, the Broncos weren't going to offer anything of value for Keenum. They were interested until they learned the asking price. Rams tagged him with a 1st round tender, meaning it would cost a 1st rounder to sign him away. Right there that stops everyone from pursuing him unless the Rams accept considerably less. The dreams of an early pick or a quality player in return are really only that; dreams.

Denver wanted him for the same reasons the Rams didn't want to let him go; to be a reliable bridge to their rookie QB. You don't give up a day 1 or 2 pick for a stop-gap (unless you're the Vikings I guess).

Is Keenum really "reliable"? what is that based on? Yes, he's played a few games for us and has played pretty well, but will that continue? Could Mannion not do what Keenum does? why not? is it THAT hard to handoff to Gurley? What was the offer?

without knowing what Denver was offering, we really can't criticize the Rams for not doing the trade.

and I highly doubt Elway and Co. were offering anything significant, so I'm fine with it.

It wouldn't ahve changed much if we traded him...I'm only predicting 5 wins at the most.

So if you think we'll only end up with 5 wins, why not trade him and try to get a pick back? Even if it was a 3rd rounder, its better than nothing, no?

He's as reliable as the Rams have. He plays within his abilities and (so far for the Rams) has proven an able game-manager that doesn't hurt the team with bad decisions. Mannion in actual game play against game-planning 1st team defenses is a complete unknown so far. He could be Joe Flacco, or he could be Dan McGwire.

There is a lot more to playing QB than handing off. If that was all the Rams wanted, they could have Hekker play QB. They would also lose all 16 games.

But you don't know what you have until you play them...Look at what Wentz just did, look at what Dak just did...Mannion has had a full year to acclimate himself to the NFL game. If he's still really not ready to start on THIS team, then add him to the rest of the draft busts...

After last game, I'm ready to throw him in there. In fact, I wanted him in to start the second half.

Fisher is already doubling down on Keenum though. More 7-9 bullshit (if we're lucky).

Does Denver still want him?

Supposedly as soon as they saw that Siemian could play and be effective, they pulled their offer. Plus after last nights performance, I'm not sure that anyone would want him...

would be nice, but I don't think he's going anywhere as long as Fisher keeps insisting Keenum is "his guy"...

Maybe they should sign Joe Namath, have him get all alcoholed-up, and slobber a big wet full mouthal kiss on Suzie Kolber!

Are you still doing post-game analysis?
RR had to work and after hearing the final outcome of the game, none of us would blame him if recorded it and said screw it, deleted it, and moved on.

But I'll take a crack!

The Rams sucked ass in every phase of the game, save the our kicking game, vs the hapless restructuring 49ers.

That about sums it up.
