Like I said above McKenzie is not in the NFL because of his WR skills, he is in it for his return skills. He was drafted in the 5th for his PR skills alone. As a WR he was an undrafted guy. WR isn't what he is in the NFL to do, nor do I think Denver is banking on him giving much at WR... They strictly want him to be the PR he was in college.

I wonder if he is not sacrificed for guys that can add to both special teams and Defense/Offense.

I think people are forgetting why Elway drafted this guy and how much he praised him after drafting him. I know, a lot can change when you see a player, but McKenzie has fixed issues he had last year (too early to tell, but so far). Elway used a 5th on him filling a PR spot that needed filled. I think you will see him doing just that this year. If he struggles early then maybe he doesn't last long. But I do think you will see him as our PR with every opportunity to succeed. Could be wrong.. Again, just my instinct. He was young last year, thrown into the fire and he showed his inexperience. He forced it way too hard wanting to make a play for the team. He's had a lot of time to mentally prepare this year. Last year he was not in the game mentally trying to make plays over being smart.

I agree with @Draft Crazy on McKenzie, but PacMan is insurance in case McKenzie hits a bad stretch again - also agree with DC that PacMan won't be the starting PR guy - due to his age and value in the pass defense rotation.

I'm still leaning toward McKenzie not making the 53. We'll see. Maybe only my wishful thinking.

You could be right but I'm a risk taker by nature. I'll live with the consequences for now.

This years roster could go several different ways. There are guys with value that if cut probably don't make our PS. Jeff Holland would be one. I would love to see him stay a Bronco as what I have seen from him he shows promise and could be an awesome pass rush specialist if Barrett and Ray leave after the season as expected. We lose those 2 guys and our depth at OLB takes a huge hit.

Saturday will be interesting. Tough decisions for the coaching staff, and I am glad I don't have to make them.

Imac, He fumbles punts and fumbles after he catches a pass. Can he be trusted? One mistake could mean losing a game.

Ugh. I hope Elway puts the fear of God in him. Def a high risk high reward signing.

I don't think Adams Jones offers much reward these days. IMO, he's lost more than a step. When no one in your DIV even takes a peak at you...that's not a good sign.

I don't really see him as a high risk/reward.

The risk isn't big because he is on a one year deal. His upside at his age isn't GREAT, he is what he is. He is a decent vet CB. He was needed as he is an upgrade over Tramaine Brock and we have young guys behind him trying to get better each day without the pressure of being thrown right into action. (Yiadom) Langley might be strictly a special teams guy it would appear.

Sounds like Pac Man is going to wear #24 after cuts assuming we keep him. A number that hasn't been worn in Denver since Champ Bailey.

Also heard that he wanted that number out of respect for Champ.

From what I heard Champ had requested for Pac Man to wear it. Both are Georgia boys. Pac Man wore #24 in Cincinnati because of Champ (like most people who wear #24 nowadays seem to do) #21 for Deion #24 for Champ.

I personally like when a player tries to make a number their own. I'd be that guy wearing #49 trying to make it famous. ;)

Love the Pacman signing .. and never did I think I'd be saying that

I think he's going to play a bigger role as a CB then what is expected .. and I think it is important for a defense to have that one guy who sets the bar for playing with a mean streak - while we're talking about elite, NFL athletes here, I think there is something to be said for intensity being contagious - and not wanting to be the weak link in terms of keeping the defense intimidating ..

Infectious energy is one of the great attributes of Phillip Lindsay. I think you are so right about that - I hope that is VJ's influence- it would give me better hope on his ultimate success as a HC.
