HAHA- Nice.

Bring a draft and DB whore (The former KFFL Broncos fans know all about that with me)

That is the first time in my entire life the Broncos drafted my favorite DB in the draft.

I had mixed feelings when he got kicked out of the Iowa game for his helmet to helmet hit. ;)

It's fine to me. Low risk. People who don't like it are acting like we're deep at CB or something. Yeah, he has had his issues, but he is on a clean slate here.

To me the guy who hurts the most of it is Tramaine Brock. I feel it is his vet roster depth spot that Denver was concerned with here to go out and sign Adam Jones. (Who hasn't gone by Pac Man for about 5 years now) but we will still call him Pac Man forever. :)

Yiadom is going to learn and as time goes on will hopefully develop and play more as the season goes on. Langley, I feel we're pretty down on him as a CB we can depend on as he hasn't developed like we had hoped (He went to early in rd 3) had him as a rd 5 pick, project with good tools, but.... Langley is our best gunner and service a purpose as a 4th or 5th CB.

He could fall in line with a lot of former Bronco draft picks who were drafted in the top 3 rounds who didn't pan out at their position but ended up being very good special teams players. To name a few.

Willie Middlebrooks
Karl Paymah
Chris Cole
Cody Latimer
Alton Montgomery
Detron Smith
Rondell Jones
Nate Irving
Darcel McBath
Glyn Milburn

I won't put Webster here although he never really turned into a starter for us, he did provide good depth at CB and he played here at a time when we had the best CB tandem in the NFL. He got a starting job after leaving Denver as a FA and then got hurt.

Side note, Lattimer and Hunter Sharp making big plays for NYG last weekend.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around getting rid of Talib. I don’t buy the split locker room talk, if that was true Sanders would be gone. Money? We couldn’t afford him one more year? We should’ve cut Watson, 5 million reasons right there.

I've been trying to wrap my head around passing on Ed Reed for the past 15 years or so. Once his HOF speech is over I might be able to move on, but it really gets me nowhere trying to wrap my head around it. It's just part of the business. But I use to draft him in Madden every year so it was all good.

Other NFL news:

Odell Beckham is now the highest paid WR ever

Ryan Switzer trade for the second time this off-season. This time to the Steelers (was traded to the Raiders on draft day)

Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (often hurt) is having season ending knee surgery.

Lions have signed former Broncos DE/OLB Robert Ayers. He hasn't had a career anywhere near where we drafted him but he has lasted in the NFL a long time. Good for him.

Colts signed Bradley Chubb's brother, Brandon Chubb (his 3rd team this offseason)

Colts traded LB Antonio Morrison who led them in tackles last year to the Packers for CB Lenzy Pipkins.

I was hoping Webster would find his way back to Denver. I guess he will in Week 9.

Not gonne lie. I am pretty pumped up with this addition. I think he will fit in very nice here as a 3rd CB and it doesn't put the pressure on the young CB's. Clearly Brock is the man in danger here.

With his potential as a punt returner, it also gives the Broncos more flexibility to cut McKenzie if that's what they want to do.

I don’t see Adam Jones doing much punt returning for us. I think he will be used as a PR like we did Wes Welker and Sanders in the past. More like a safety valve PR when we need someone to be smart and catch the ball in a close tight area near the EZ. Adam hasn’t done a lot of PR in recent years. He has returned 16 punts the last two years. He is nearing 35 years old. I just don’t think it is what he is here to do. I think McKenzie will get back in the good graces with the fanbase this year. He seems to have really come along ways in terms of decision making and security on punts. You won’t see him much as a WR if at all. If our core stays healthy. He is in the NFL really to do one thing and he does a REALLY good job at that if he can secure the job, and not take chances like he did last year. He has electrifying return skills and I think a lot of people have forgotten about him because we only saw the bad and mental mistakes in him last year. He can be an elite PR in the NFL. I think he will show it early this year. I don’t see him getting cut. Unlike a lot of other people I would be pretty shocked if he got cut. If we keep 6 WR’s Patrick probably is the inactive one since McKenzie is our PR… McKenzie is our 6th WR yet sort of our 5th because of the numbers. If a WR goes down then Patrick jumps active and ahead of McKenzie in WR action time. We could probably store Patrick on the PS as well. I also think Fumagalli goes on IR for his rookie year so that cuts down on a TE spot where we can keep Traylor without having to keep 4 TE’s on the roster so it is possible we do keep 6 WR’s.

So to make the story short. IMO, we keep McKenzie, is PR skills are too good as long as the team feels he has made the adjustments in year two. Patrick would be our true 5th WR, but would be inactive or on the PS come game day so McKenzie would be our 5th WR on game day. If Patrick need activated (PS or inactive gameday roster) then he would probably be ahead of McKenzie as a WR. I haven’t seen enough from Patrick to say he wouldn’t make it back to our PS so that is a strong possibility, IMO.. We may have room for 6 WR’s though. McKenzie serves more of a purpose on special teams though to actually be active on gameday.

Short story ? Well I guess compared to IKF it is. :)

I'll try to make my response brief: I disagree.

Like I said above McKenzie is not in the NFL because of his WR skills, he is in it for his return skills. He was drafted in the 5th for his PR skills alone. As a WR he was an undrafted guy. WR isn't what he is in the NFL to do, nor do I think Denver is banking on him giving much at WR... They strictly want him to be the PR he was in college.
