Think there is a chance Chip could still flip Bradford to draft MM and save the cap hit on Sam? Not sure what all you'd have to give the Titans to make that happen?
Well from Chips pressed yesterday that isn't even a possibility.

But then again, since when has he been honest with media.

Sounds like Sam is the guy he wants though.

Eagles had Shady at 10mm per

Now they have Alonso and Murray at 9mm per year.

Yep, obviously he has no idea what he is doing.

He had Foles at $1M who is a thousand times better than one of the all time busts in Sam Bradford at $12M = FAIL

Murray finally played 1 full season of football since his Sr. year in high school, where as Shady has easily been the better RB = FAIL

Alonso coming off an ACL tear and was an ILB in a 3-4; ILB's are a dime a dozen in 3-4 defenses who you can find at a cheaper price = FAIL

I agree w/you Mamba, he has no idea what he is doing. As a Cowboy fan, I'm loving it. Eagles can suck a fat one......

Which is crazy to me. He seemed like the perfect back in that system to me.

Chip Kelly cares about "time to the hole" and for a guy like Shady he's already setting people up and getting them off balance as he gets to the hole.

Ex-Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray signing with Eagles: 7 things to know

DeMarco Murray, the biggest remaining name in free agency, has taken wings and landed with the Eagles, somehow giving us another reason to talk about Chip Kelly's insanely active offseason.

Murray looked like a big loser as of Wednesday night, unable to find a home despite plenty of available money on the market. He looked destined to limp back to the Cowboys for their initial low-ball offer. Yeah. Not so much.

Here are 7 things to know about the deal:

1. The Money: Let's not sugarcoat things. This looks like a huge mistake from the Eagles and a massive victory for Murray's camp. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Murray is getting a five-year deal for $42 million with $21 million guaranteed. That's way too much money to pay for a running back. Period. End of story.

Before the cash came out, I had a 4-year/$20 million deal pegged as a steal and a 5-year/$35 million deal pegged as an overpay. Initial reports of contracts are never accurate but this looks like too much for a running back.

Especially one with a weak market (Dallas dared him to find a deal) and coming off a 390-plus carry season. History isn't kind to dudes with that kind of workload.

390 CARRIES OR MORE
PLAYER YEAR CARRIES GAMES NEXT YEAR RUSH YARDS NEXT YEAR
DeMarco Murray 2014 392 ??? ???
Larry Johnson 2006 416 7 559
Ricky Williams 2003 392 0 (retired) 0 (retired)
Eddie George 2000 403 16 939
Jamal Anderson 1998 410 2 59
Terrell Davis 1998 392 4 211
Barry Foster 1992 390 9 711
Eric Dickerson 1986 404 12 1288
Gerald Riggs 1985 397 16 1327
James Wilder 1984 407 16 1300
Eric Dickerson 1983 390 16 2105
So the Eagles are betting that Murray, who had never played 16 games before in his career, is suddenly Eric Dickerson? Good luck with that.

2. Having Said That ...: Kelly spun Shady out for Kiko Alonso so he's operating, at least in terms of comparable cost, pretty well here. Kiko and DeMarco are cheaper than McCoy. But this assumes you're required to pay large sums of money to find a running back in the NFL. If there's one thing we've learned the last few years it should be how fungible backs are these days.

Look: you can love the Shady-Kiko trade without liking the Murray signing. They're not a package deal. Is Murray really that much better than Ryan Mathews at a fraction of the cost? Not necessarily.

Maybe Murray rips off another 1,800 yard season and makes me look stupid. It's possible.

3. The Scheme: Primarily because of the way Kelly attacks via the run. He wants a guy who grabs the ball, hits the hole created by offense and runs downhill. Murray is a much more decisive runner than McCoy and could potentially thrive big time in this offense.

McCoy even admitted Kelly was "a mastermind" at getting backs the ball in space. Murray ran exceptionally well for the Cowboys last season when given room. Worth noting he does have a history of fumbles (once every 65 carries last season).

4. Chip Kelly Is Over-Signing: Does Chip think he's back at Oregon? He's managed to churn his running back roster with handshake deals (or at least reported as handshake deals) over the past few weeks.

McCoy actually spent two years with Kelly but the two guys in between? They didn't even have to make it in the building. Rollercoaster couple of weeks for Philly in free agency, particularly at the running back position.

5. Spite Signing: It's clear getting what he perceives as fair value was critical to Murray here, but how much of this deal was spite? Murray hit free agency after the Cowboys lowballed him, essentially telling the running back to test the market and bring back a bigger contract if he found one out there and they'd look into matching. Instead, Murray floated in the ether before the Eagles swooped in to steal him from his divisional rival.

It seemed understood the Cowboys told Murray they'd try to match whatever he could find, but you have to wonder if once Murray got fair-market value from Philly if he wasn't interested in getting revenge. You're going to want to own him in fantasy when the Eagles and Cowboys match up.

6. Adios, Matthews: With Murray in the fold, the Eagles suddenly don't need Mathews on the roster (espeically with Darren Sproles and Chris Polk). They kind of over-committed. But there are ways out of this.

We're assuming they'll call in their finest medical specialist.

7. AP Does Dallas?: So where does Dallas turn from here? They're clearly in a bit of scramble mode without a ton of backs on the market.

But here's the thing. One of two things can now happen to make Jerry Jones look smart (again, which feels weird).

One, the Cowboys wait out the Vikings/Adrian Peterson situation. Peterson hits the market, Jones gets the best running back in the NFL, plugs him behind his offensive line and he runs for 2,000 yards next season and looks like an upgrade. Expensive? Dangerous? Yeah but a crazy gamble worth taking for a crazy gambler.

Or two, you sign Mathews and draft Melvin Gordon in the second round (or Todd Gurley in the first). Those two guys plus Joseph Randle and you're better off than paying someone $42 million to run the football in today's game.

Wilfork might be back. The secondary is going to be much younger that's for sure. They better find some pass rushers too.

So it looks like Murray got a 5 year deal for $42million according to the recent reports.
