Unfortunately Smed, our 4 cents doesn't buy diddly squat.

If certainly doesn't buy Davis a fair shake on Fisher's team.

Maybe we can get a few more guys to chip in and we could get this Diddly Squat guy you are talking about!

Ya let Davis play a couple snaps the entire preseason, what was even the point of that? That's not even a shake, let alone a fair shake!

This is simply a move to make room for Mannion and his learning curve. Problem is... Do we really have a good back up? With Davis, we did have a good back up QB.

Now?

I guess I just don't understand the Keenum love.

If Foles goes down, this team will be worse with Keenum at the helm than Davis.

Just my:2cents:
I think being worse is all relative. If Foles goes down we are FUCKED with either Davis or Keenum. That's my 2 cents anyway.

It's amazing how much love there always seems to be for the backup QB. Right now, Mannion is the only one that has enticing upside, as we haven't seen him fail yet.

Don't think Mannion has thrown for 300 yards in an NFL game yet. And he didn't look very good IMO against 3rd stringers yesterday.

When Davis got opportunities last year, he won some games and put up some decent numbers. He also made some mistakes but for a back up QB, I thought he was pretty good.

What has Keenum done?

Fisher obviously has a hard on for keenum... I would be pissed if Davis is release and signed somewhere else only to excel. It would show once again Fishers blindness in keeping around stiffs just for loyalty.

180-284 (63.4), 2001 yards, 12 TD, 9 INT, 85.1 rating
182-330 (55.2), 2195 yards, 11 TD, 8 INT, 76.8 rating

Does it matter which one is the #2/3 QB? Both are undrafted QBs from the 2012 draft. Davis is an inch taller and 20 lbs heavier. Keenum was much more prolific in college, throwing for over 5000 yards in 3 separate seasons (at a spread offense school of course), which doesn't mean much either.

Well, ya I think it does. I think Davis has looked good when given the chance and won some games for us and if not for bad defensive play we would have won a couple other games he started. Keenum has gone 2-8 I believe as a starter and he had some stud wide receivers and a stud running back!

The more I think about this, the more annoyed I get. After performing the way he did for us last season, Davis deserves a spot on our roster.

We have all seen Davis play. Is he better than Keenum? who knows. I'm not so sure Davis will play in the NFL again but I do think Bradford will do well in Philly. It's my contention that for some reason the quarter back position struggles under a Fisher lead team no matter whom is in the game. I can't explain it; maybe it's because they are always coming back from large deficits. Hopefully Foles can prove me wrong.

There you go comparing totals from 2 different QBs on 2 different teams. 1 in the NFC WEST and 1 that was in the AFC east. :L

At least on a somewhat positive note, at least we don't have to worry about Shaun Hill being trotted out there if Foles goes down.

Let's just hope we don't need our back up QB play.

I'm stoked about the season, but I'm really stoked about this defense.

Let's think of it this way...We're got rid of a guy(Davis)who has proven he can run this team if need be and even win some games...For two "theoretical" QB's who have never taken a regular season snap for us. We don't even have Shaun"Over The"Hill anymore just in case either.
Foles isn't known as the picture of health through his career and we have a VERY young O-line. Isn't this a problem? Was this REALLY the right time to add a rookie QB to the mix?

Just a strange team sometimes....

Well, I guess it's just another head scratching move we can add to the list of head scratching moves by this organization over the past few years!

Are we that bored that all we want to talk about is the backup qb position? it feels like foles is already injured and the season hasn't started yet

LOL. So you cannot compare QBs on different teams? Also, when did Houston join the AFC East?

It's ALWAYS time to add a young QB to the mix, especially if you're keeping 3.

This site has been chock full of complaints about not drafting a potential successor at QB before the late rounds in recent history. Now that they did, it isn't a good idea? Davis is nothing special. I know he has his supporters here, and that may hold water against someone like ancient Hill, but Keenum is a similar level of prospect. If the staff preffered him, so be it. Hopefully the backup QB isn't needed except for mop-up duty anyway.
