LWM. For CB, you need to look at pass defensed and QB rating on passes thrown at him to determine the value of a CB. Slay has 30 passes defensed in the past two years. Not sure on the QBR right now, but I'm guessing it is pretty good as he played great after a rough start to this past year

Based on this list I do'nt think 7-8 million a year is crazy. Some in that range are better some are worse. I think he is on the same level as Brent Grimes who is in that range.

I wanted Suh but knew the money wasn't there from previous fuckups.

Yep. And that will no doubt continue to haunt us for years, especially with Calvin walking away. Too bad Mayhew was so incredibly bad at his job, otherwise he would have had the foresight to tag Suh, see Calvin walk and pay Suh big money this year.

Problem is he wants Joe Haden money, and Rosenhaus 100% will get it for him. You don't hire an agent like Drew if you're only looking for 7-8 million a year.

I agree Slay is not as good as the 4 that make more then 11. Byron Maxwell, Brandon Carr, and Jimmy Smith all make over 10 though. I think Slay is better than all 3, Maybe not Jimmy Smith.

I agree they mishandled Suh's contract. Which will happen when you are starting from scratch and have to hand out multiple monster rookie deals. Your end up having to restructure deals to work around the cap. It isnt as if Detroit offered Suh 10 million a year because that is all they could give him. They offered the max they felt he was worth. Miami offered more and he went to the higher bidder. I'd guess if Miami had the chance to do it over again, Suh would be playing in Detroit. Instead they are stuck with a 29 million dollar cap hit and an entire defense to rebuild.

With Slay. I don't think it will take 10 million a year to sign him. I think they can get a deal done for less. Some thought Levy was going to cost upwards of 13-15 million or whatever it was to re-sign. He signed for much less

Levy didn't have Rosenhaus as his agent, plus he had Chilean AIDS and a deteriorating hip when he signed, or would have gotten a lot more.

If Slay was smart. He'd hire Suh's agent.

If you were smart, you wouldn't have reduced yourself to sitting in bowling alleys all day trying to win 10 bucks. But you aren't.

I'd rather take the risk of bitching about BQ doing a bad contract than bitching about not paying him and see him get paid and produce elsewhere.

Slay, Ziggy and Quin are the best they have. All 3 need to stay and keep building around them.

Exactly why Slay hired Rosenhaus. The Lions HAVE to keep him. May as well get paid Joe Haden money if you're gonna do it.

Ziggy will obviously have the 5th year option picked up. However he should never see that 5th season without being locked up long term before game 1 next year.

And again, too bad Mayhew couldn't offer Suh a mere couple million more per yer, or he'd still be here. But Mayhew ran out of money wasting it on guys like Tulloch, Mathis and Levy. And now he's unemployed because of it.

In BQ I trust. If it was Mayhew, I'd be wishing Ziggy well in his future as an Eagle.

You can't say Levy, as wasn't making big money before Suh left. I agree with the other two. Plus Pettigrew was terrible money wasted when you had no vision on the staff to use him.

He has to better, he just has to be. Don't drink the blue juice yet. He's new, but hasn't shown anything yet. I need proof first. I imagine his first move will suffice for me knowing he's better than Mayhew.

I have to agree with TP. If Mayhew would have paid Suh 20 million, the Lions could have a top 30 defense and a top 10 draft pick. Let's not forget an entire new coaching staff too.

I'm sure the Lions would have suffered with Suh.:L

Don't mind Fred. He's obsessed. Just not sure with whom he's more fatally attracted to, Suh or Swarm?
