I miss Slay already.
I'm over Rosebud already.
Honestly, I would like to see Slay put in one more pro bowl type year before giving him a lucrative extension. Right now his stock is pretty high. If he has a down year or get injured. That lowers his value on any multi-year deal.
Ziggy will obviously have the 5th year option picked up. However he should never see that 5th season without being locked up long term before game 1 next year.
If only Maypew shared your wisdom before extending Levy.![]()
If worse comes to worse, you could always franchise him the 6th year. I already consider him a top 5 DE in the NFL. So franchising him wouldn't be over paying by any stretch.
That Levy shit was so strange. Team was all hush hush.... Oh he's injured, sit out 4 games, play 1 quarter. Sit out all year. Then just said, oh he has an injured hip. No surgery, no news of nothing after that.
Chris Greenwood was on the Pats Practice Squad for three weeks, I'm sure he can step in.
I'm over Rosebud already.
Two best guys drafted during the Maypew era (Suh and Ziggy) were both drafted by Schwartz. Best guy on offense was drafted by Millen (Calvin).
Peeps were on the Greenwood, dick swinging bandwagon forever on CBS. "He's got measureables"
All top 5 picks. Not real "diamonds in the rough".
When you look back. Mini-Millen was just like his pops.
Look at all these 2nd rounders they are supposed to be 50% hits to be multi year starters.
Millen- 1 for 10
Raiola- multi year starter
Kalimba Edwards- Who the fuck is that
Boss Bailey- Thought he was a boss but only amounted to a cashier position
Teddy Lehman- I think he was a good special teamer? lol
Shaun Cody- Flippin Burgers somewhere
Daniel Bullocks- Allen Iverson airball pick
Drew Stanton- Career Backup
Alama Francis- bakes good cookies
Gerald Alexander- lol
Jordan Dizon- Had a small role as a midget in willy wonka in the chocolate factory
Mini-Millen- 2 out of 7 (Not sure on Ameer yet)
Delmas- Multi year starter
Jahvid- Was a beast for about 5 games
Titus and Lesuck- Currently cell mates and giving each other rusty trombones
Ryan Broyles- Solid #5 WR for the Lions
Slay- Looking beastly so far
Van Noy- I saw him make a tackle once
Ameer- Jury still out
The fact that these were all mid to high 2nd round draft picks makes it even more sad.

That's the angriest ive ever been on draft day.Holy Christ if you look at Millens 1st draft, he actually did a very good job.
2 decade long starters on the Oline, Shaun Rogers and Mike McMahon in the 5th.
No one in that draft I would have preferred for the 61st pick(Rogers) other then Steve Smith
A 5th round pick that sticks around the league for 11 years is about as good as you can ask for usually.
The argument that Backus and Raiola only were decade long starters because the Lions future ineptitude in drafts can also be made though. Although I remain a fan of Backus, never elite, but always Solid I think.
I still like the Boss Bailey pick. A lot of those picks fall into solid when healthy category, just the "when healthy" was unacceptably rare.
Delmas, Titus Young, Boss Bailey, and Broyles I think all had the talent.
This is not a defense of Mayhew, if anything it is more damning that he was willing to overlook red flags of any type in the name of physical attributes.
Also this left of Millens best 2nd round pick, Shaun Rogers. That pick was killer.
If I remember correctly, only reason we ever got Boss in the 2nd was because of injuries. Same w Teddy Lehman. Maypew learned from the best when it came to drafting guys after round 1 who would otherwise be first rounders if not for injuries.
