So no changing the date? Seems to be a lot of folks feeling week 11 instead of 9 is the optimum date.
Next year yes, this year it is set.

Even as a supporter of week 11 (or later), I'd definitely support no changes this year. Just a really bad precedent to setSo no changing the date? Seems to be a lot of folks feeling week 11 instead of 9 is the optimum date.

Why does there have to be a deadline though?
Say I miss the playoffs and at the start of the playoffs you offer me a first round pick for drew brees. Why should either of us not be allowed to do that? Sure it makes your team have a better chance to win it all but 1) so does any trade like that no matter when in the year it happens, 2) you have to pay the price of not having a 1st round pick now so you arent just magically or unfairly improving your team at no cost, and 3) any other playoff team could have also traded for drew brees so its not like you had an unfair advantage over them.
So the #1 ranked team has gotten by with QB streaming. Now it's the playoffs. The other playoffs teams have Rodgers, Ryan, Brady, (healthy) Ben and Cam. So the #1 ranked team who now knows he has the last pick of rookies and waivers next year, gets Brees vs the Bucs twice. How is that good?
Yes, maybe we should vote to change it to before the Thanksgiving Thursday games next year... but beyond that, it just seems too easy. imo
Because he gave something up to get him. Hes prioritizing today over tomorrow. If its that bad of a deal its the fault of the person who traded away Brees but I imagine hed get something decent for him. And those other teams can trade for a RB/WR/TE to improve.
Also - I think ya got me with that offer. I hate to lose Eifert but thats a damn good offer.

Wow... nice trade boys.
@obxyankeefan et al
With all of this talk of trading and picks, since this is my first year in dynasty, I have a question.
I suppose I could go back and try to find it, but I figure you guys may know...
How does the rookie draft work? How many rounds are there?
Do our rosters expand for preseason? Then shrink by week 1?
I might be interested in trading late picks in the rookie draft, but it would be nice to know what I have to negotiate with.
Wow. That's pretty cool.Rookie draft is five rounds, but you can participate in as few rounds as you want. The rosters will expand to 25 for theoffseason, but drop back down to 20 the first week of preseason. If you reach 25 during the draft, when your next pick comes up you can either PASS or drop a player and draft another.
I'm yer huckleberry.
