No way, Ott and Miller are both UFAs, Wingels is an RFA and Niemi has another year on his contract. The only way Doug swings that deal is if he knows he can resign them. Also Miller is 33 (3 years older than Niemi).

Plus I'm not sure I could root for a team with Ott and Torres. Cheering for one of them is hard enough.

Id hate to part with Wingels he's one of my boys lol. But Miller is better then Nemo at this point in his career and doesnt get beat blocker side all day like nemo does. He's pretty weak 5 hole but other then that hes good.

However i didnt see the 1st and 3rd round picks in that deal, i wouldnt do that

Yeah I like Miller better as well but I have a hard enough time having Torres on the team, Ott would be too much for me to handle.

Armstrong must be confident that Miller will re-sign with the Blues. Can you imagine giving all that up for a rental goalie?

What possible moves could Dougie Boy pull off? Defense or Offense?

Im going with both, dumping Havlat on someone like Ottawa would be awesome for Michalek. Or Jagr if the devils fall out of the playoffs, dont forget Dwill did Lou Lam a favor when he took on vladimir malakhov and his salary.

Tyler Myers and BeerHoff are available and its something the sharks need with Boyler coming apart at the hinges.

Might there be a deal centered around spezza for havlat? Both guys have underachieved and carry big numbers but only 1 year left. havlat and michalek could make a nice combo and I would love to see what spezza can do in SJ. Thorton, couture, pavelski, spezza down the middle with patty marleau able as well. that's impressive and besides the sharks can eat 2M more next year. I would be very interested to see it and I would figure it would likely be nearly straight up.

After watching Havlat the last 2 games over skate pucks and making big looping roller hockey turns, his trade value is negative and is basically playing himself out of the league. Sens are also thin down the middle so I doubt they move Spezza

Im with you on havlat's trade value. I think he is only movable to a team that has an even bigger dump to make. That's why I think havlat is only moveable to a team that can unload their own dead weight and that's not many teams. However, spezza's 7M cap hit is humongous and noone is gunna wanna take that on and give someone of value in return. Perhaps the sens dont make any move, but if they can get havlat and anything of value, while saving 2M on next year's cap, I wouldnt be surprised.

Not to mention, they have michalek, so the czech connection is there and they had havlat before and he was awesome for them. They might be willing to take a flyer on such a deal if havlat comes with a 2nd rounder or something like that.

Agreed that they are thin down the middle, but then why would they shop spezza unless they felt that they could do better on the UFA market this summer. Stastny and legwand may be available this summer so the sens could need the space to make a splash. It's a lot of speculation, but if they were shopping, I would dougie would call with havlat going the other way. Not alot of contenders can take on 7M in cap hit for next year as well, and if they do, the sens will get very little in return.

Should be interesting if dougie can pull that off...

Honestly the sharks probably need to dump a forward not add one, I'm more on board with your earlier assertion that they need a puck moving dman, if love to see erhoff back in teal

Could Niemi be on the market? Shocked with the Luongo trade! I guess Torts pisses of his players everywhere he goes.

So is Florida the dumping ground for overpriced underachieving veterans? Soupy Campbell, Luongo...does that team ever have a real plan to win?

Torts should and is going to get fired after one year. I'd be surprised if they traded Niemi. I don't want Seto unless they can unload both Havlat and Kennedy.

Yep. Makes the Schneider trade even more confusing now.
Looks like they are a mess. I'd be on the horn w them right now...see if they'd do something else stupid, like trade us Kesler.
