Cowherd: just admit you're critical of Lebron because you're worried he's better than Jordan

Or to have been the Oilers in that time period and made it to the playoffs every year in a row for 7 years and not even have reached the AFC Title Game.

Sounds like the Phins of the 90's

My opinion on the Finals losses compared to not making the Finals. So would you rather have a shot at winning it all or not have a chance at all? There is only one right answer and it is a no-brainer.

The 95 loss to Orlando doesn't count for me because he barely even played bball that year and came back wearing #45.

Not 1 game 7 in all 6 NBA Final victories.

And not only that, there was never a question who was the best player on the team or who was going to get FInals MVP.

If the Heat would have won in 2011, Wade would have gotten Finals MVP that year, he was the best player on the team during the playoffs.

But if they never make the Super Bowl those people would be saying nicer things? :noidea:

hell, it's equal in MY eyes. no ring in either case...

why does anyone need to build themselves up if they come up short of the prize? to make THEMSELVES feel better...?

I don't think people know how to read, to be honest. I'm not arguing LeBron (or anyone) over Jordan, just that the oft-repeated "you need 6 or more titles to be the best" argument is nonsense. The number of championships is only one factor in determining the greatest ever.

It's about rings and its about how you win them. The GOAT with no rings?

If losing in the CCG is better. The did it three years in a row in the mid '00s...

I think they would say they'd have rather won the CCGs and lost each SB. I don't understand why this is even a debate. So back to the NBA, putting aside MJ and LeBron, it's simply a fact that getting to the Finals (and losing) is better than not getting to the Finals. How anyone can think otherwise is mind-boggling.

Then why do losses matter in general? LOL If a SB loss is the same as a AFCCG loss then you only look at wins. The loss column is all the same for everyone. If you lose, you lose, doesn't matter what round. That is why I am saying A WIN is the only thing that should matter.

the farther along you lose, the more WINS you have.

Marino has zero rings and I put him in the top 3. I think it is: 1a. Montana 1b. Brady 2. Marino
I don't know why people think basketball is different. I mean do they say Babe Ruth is the best bc he had rings. No. It's because he was dominate, it's still a team sport and that is just one factor like you said. But I guess when both players are so great at everything something has to determine it and rings does that. I don't agree with it but that is how most view it.

Look, this is all just yakking about legacies decades after the fact about sports which don't mean anything real. To me the more you win the better, so if you win enough to get to the Finals in your sport that's better than not getting there. But in the end, none of this matters.

He also never beat a team as good as the Warriors or Spurs. You can't really compare the victories bc it is a different era, different rules, different competition, etc. The Jazz had some great teams but nowhere near how great these Pop teams are or Warrior teams. Lebron has the best Finals victory than any of MJ's, just sayin.

Sure. And we are all giving our opinions. The more you win the better, to me.

Ok then we go back to same thing everyone says. Lebron needs 6 rings. Losses don't matter whether they are in the 1st round, conference finals or Finals. Rings is one of the main factors out of many factors IMO
