7 minutes to doubt yourself after such a cocksure comment on the topic? I wish people would just stop acting like everything they say is 100% right with no grey area. 90% of what is said on here is opinion, but people get all bent out of shape if someone else has a different one...

:agree: great take.

These FA visits remind me of a get together for the good old boys. It is a publicity stunt by J errah to try and calm. down an angry fan base. Jerrah can then make it look like he was trying to get a deal. There is no plan in Dallas. No commitment to win or rebuild.

Jerry has a plan and its to make money of that I am sure.

On the football side I am convinced that several posters on this forum and from back at the mouse ears could manage the team lots better than Stephen and Jerry have done since 1995. At minimum I honestly don't believe it would be any worse.

Nets and Twist could run the contracts pretty easy

Pday, Manster, Jarntt could run the GM dept

Wfrye under Jerry in the PR dept in charge of disinformation perfect match

Bring back Arkcowboys for the scouting dept

Others also could plug n play but it should have been better than our .500 record since 1996

Just read Rex is pissed he didn't get a top CB in free agency & Mo could be a target for a trade. What would you take for Mo? I would like a first but that is not likely, I guess a second would do, if we not gonna usr him right as a press corner..

Their second would do it for me. Pryor in the 1st, a DT like Anthony Johnson and a WR like Matthews in the 2nd. Just let Scandrick start at CB. We've got too many damn holes to plug them all lol

Cowboys sign Melton
here
Cowboys agreed to terms with DT Henry Melton, formerly of the Bears.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it's a multi-year pact. It's a deal both sides have wanted to get done since the start of free agency, but Melton still made the rounds on the open market, visiting Seattle and St. Louis in addition to the Cowboys. The Vikings were also interested. Melton will be reuniting with DC Rod Marinelli, the man who moved him from end to tackle in Chicago. Melton is recovering from a torn ACL, but will provide a badly needed disruptive presence along the Cowboys' patchwork line as long as he's healthy.

My guess is it is nowhere near the $10M per year he supposedly thought he was going to get. I hope Seattle throws a boat load of money at him and needs to let some of their young guys go because of it, but I doubt they are that stupid...Bet it is a good contract for Seattle.

I heard Allen and his agent aren't confirming he's signed, only visiting.

Damn, I know many on here don't want Allen, but if we could get him and not break the bank? You add allen and a couple good rooks the defense would improve dramatically

Problem is Allen wants Ware money. I think he's has to know he won't get it but I'm sure he'll get enough that we'd consider breaking the bank. Besides if he's going to sign on the cheap I'm sure it will be with a team he thinks has a shot at the SB.

well from what i've read he isn't going to get it. even Seattle isn't offering that kind of money. of course the smart move for him would be to accept whatever Seattle is offering

We are falling into the same trap of using up all of this years money (because we have it) and then figuring out how to make the future work in the future. That would be fine if we haven't pushed a crap load of money from this year and previous years into the future already. The best thing we could do is sign some cheap role players and use what is left of our cap for in season emergencies and the new contracts for our current players - Dez, T Smith, Murray, etc. The draft should be our focus. Perhaps after we've seen our Rookies and we get to final cuts we will know if we need to bring in another key player or maybe someone that is a perfect fit for us is let go. Until then I don't expect to sign anyone like Allen who is wrong for us for a lot of reasons. Seattle he makes sense for, but not Dallas IMO.

Would he help this year? Probably. But, he would also hurt us with what he would cost.

I'm all with the signings we have already made and am ready for the draft.

Good offseason so far.
