I could see this one more than most others. Winnable division, Andrew Luck. That said how much do you have to pay to buy out Pagano and then how much for Gruene? That may make it really tough

You think Gruden wants to work for Irsay? I would think Gruden would want to work for a better owner. But who knows.

The obstacles to Colts-Gruden deal: Money (4 yrs, $40 mill is number I've heard), roster control, and what to do about Ryan Grigson.

I don't see any upside for Gruden to return to the NFL. Unless he wins the SB, people will say he failed. And right now he's a God every off season. Better to let the masses remember him as the could be savior than come back and prove them wrong.

Pagano almost definitely wouldn't be if he didn't get leukemia.

Lewis is just because Mike Brown is, and always has been, a cheapskate that doesn't want to pay two coaches.

Gruden's not going to coach again, unless he gets fired from MNF.

No reason for him to leave. He's making a ton of money, he still gets to work with players in the offseason, and all his film work is just fun and games right now.

Spot on with both

I would think the Cancer thing with Pagano should have expired by now, I understood the first couple of years

And definitely on Mike Brown

Tampa 2 coaches are largely out of the league for a good reason. Would be an all glitz no substance hire in 2017.

Someone said this on TV last night about Gruden and it makes sense to me:

The next coaching job he takes will be the one he pursues, not one that comes looking for him.

Reminds me of the saying "better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."

Like you said he is thought so highly of by teams and fans that there is very little chance he could ever live up to the hype at this point.

Exactly. Cowher too. Harbaugh might end up there too eventually.

Yeah I could see that. A guy that is starting to get that recognition at the college level of NFL teams wanting him every year is David Shaw of Stanford. I've heard stories of teams doing just about everything possible to get him to come back to the pro ranks but he just loves his job with Stanford.
