No, not yet. I was never a believer in this kid. There were some predicting hof for him on this board when he got drafted . It seems he has brought his lack of dedication and work ethic with him to NFL, who'da think it?

So Houston takes a chance and figgers, wtf if he is a bust we still got Watt, he is such a physical specimen, I can see the rationale.

With the 1st pick, it was the consensus, but the questions about his regimen were there from the start, and his senior year wasn't anything special, he got his hype from one big play it seems.

Houston did the right thing. But the writing was on the wall, I dont think he's very coachable.

Not ready to throw out the word bust but the kid this off season needs to look deep inside and make a decision of what he wants to be remembered as. He is showing that his last year in college where he was "injured" wasn't just him trying to protect himself for the draft but more just his nature. People can change and I think he has the best mentor in the NFL about hard work in JJ Watt so I think he stands a chance to turn it around but again it comes down to the heart of the kid.

To me Houston caved to media pressure. The kid had moments in college of looking special but honestly not sure he fit their system all that well and plus the red flags I thought just maybe they would go away from him and after a guy like Khalil Mack that had the stats plus was a better system fit. To me this is where teams just have to tune out the media as much as humanly possible and draft who truly is at the top of their draft board. If the player busts well then at least you drafted who you wanted but if the player hits you look like a genius.

Are those projecting Clowney a bust now the same ones who were labeling RG111 a top tier QB in his first year?? Give the dude time to get healthy

You don't label anyone a bust after 11 weeks but yeah....

When a terminal brain tumor can't keep a girl off the basketball court while a case of the sniffles can keep a guy off the football field....

it doesn't take much to see who plays because they love the game...

and who is playing for the money.

Before the draft I was saying Aaron Donald was the best defensive lineman entering the draft.

This is a bullshit statement based on flat out talent and college production. Given Marcus Lattimore's situation, I didn't like what Clowney did his Jr. yr but totally understood it. Give this kid time to heal, give him a year or so to mature, and give him time for JJ Watt to get his paws on him and shake the stupid loose from this kid and we could have a monster pass rushing tandem on our hands.

Yep... hype, hype and more hype. It felt like ESPN had that play on a continuous loop for the first month of 2013.

The Texans should be thankful there's a rookie cap in place so they wouldn't have to flush too much of their money away.

Idk about that...they could've had ATL's #6 overall plus a 3rd rounder....on top of that they have tried to play him @ 3-4 OLB...round hole/square peg.

Pah. These days if a rookie makes it through his first season without ending up on the injury list at some point, he probably hasn't been playing. I'll wait and see.

Another wasted first pick? How about teams that don't desperately need a QB just trade that first pick back and get 2 or more for one? Anybody do the stats on how many first overall picks don't pan out?

A 3rd rounder to move up from the 6 to the 1? That's not a realistic trade for any team holding the top pick.

Can you even imagine the season J.J. Watt would be having if Clowney had kept the pass rush pressure off of him like he was originally drafted for?
