The Clippers are out of their minds if they don't do this. They are basically giving up crap for a guy who has the talent to help them and can be gone in 2 years if he doesn't. Plus, they'd only be paying him $9 million per year. If the Hornets are still willing to throw in the #8 pick, it's really a no-brainer.

Imagine what may have happened in this past seasons playoffs if they'd have had Lance to throw at The Beard.

The wing was the Clippers weakness last season, Lance (and all of his issues) fixes that in a second. When you have to start Matt Barnes as your 3, you're fucked.

Also, looks like this was sent out by Woj, so it's likely legit.

What is there to deliberate? LOL

Exactly. The Clippers should say yes and hope the league approves the trade before the Hornets wake up and realize they can get a better deal.

Trading Matt Barnes for Lance Stephenson, is not a good trade. If the Clippers think Lance can play defense better than Barnes, then they are highly mistaken. Lance and his agent tricked the Hornets into giving him that silly contract worth over 10 million a year. However, this happens all the time in the NBA. Players will always go to a team that'll overpay for them and then production slips from that guy. Lance is better off going back to Indy than flying west to Cali. Frank Vogel knows how to use him better than most in this league.

This isn't just a defensive move. Lance is a better all around player. He isn't some one dimensional offensive player who is going to stand in a corner all game on offense. Barnes defense is solid but his offense his garbage. The Hornets were a terrible fit for Lance because they signed him expecting to be one of their top 2 players. If DeAndre returns, Lance will be asked to be their 4th best player so there is no pressure. The problem with the Clippers is that in the playoffs outside of Blake and CP3, they really only have one player who can consistently create their own offense and that is Crawford.

Soon as the Hornets offered this trade, The Clippers response should have been "Where do I sign" ?

Barnes was pretty good for them all last year but he's getting old. He's getting pretty darn close to E on the tank. This would be a great deal for them because you're getting a guy in Stephenson who should at least in theory, give you exactly what Barnes did with the possibility of much more. Plus it unloads Hawes awful deal which should free up a tiny sliver of space to find a suitable veteran big to fill out the bench.

But if I'm Charlotte, I'm holding out seeing if I can get better offers elsewhere. They probably can't but still. I'm waiting as long as I can

Not a bad move. Talent to make a difference but could also screw up chemistry
