Let's just see how this unfolds. So your against trading up for a franchise qb? Your not sold on Lance. Yes, #19, #51, 2022 1st and possibly LC.
If it works out for us, Lance will be ready when all peices around him are set in year 2.
no one is picking up LC's contract , NO ONE

I'm in the either take BPA at 19 or trade down if someone makes a decent offer to trade up into the 19th spot. I'm not sold on giving up the farm on Lance.

FOOTBALL TEAM GET
NO. 8 OVERALL (2021)
If there is a trade up I think it is about 8-9 where they don't have to give as much up. This makes at least some sense. I think 4 is too high and too expensive.

To trade up to 4, at a minimum it costs #19 and 51, plus 2022 #1.

To trade up to #8, it costs at least #19, 51, and a third.

10-12 costs 19 and 51.

This is according to the chart.

Yes, im against b/c these Qb's are too raw and area huge gamble except Lawrence. Look at what the 49ers gave up from going to 12 to 3. a 2nd and next years 1st will not do it. to get into the top 8 its going to cost a RG3 type trade and I do not want any part of that. Plus no top 8 team is going to want to go to 19.

12 to 3 is 1000 points
19 to 4 is 925 points

It actually takes less to move from 19 according to the chart.

The 9ers gave up #12, a 1 + 3 in 2022, and a 1 in 2023.

You do realize that is nearly the equivalent of giving up 19 + 51 this year, and a 1 next year?

From Herbsteit:

“Mac Jones is a surgeon,” Herbstreit said. “Of all these guys, because of the offense he is coming out of, he probably processes as quickly as anyone coming out in this draft. By processing, recognizing pre-snap coverage.

I think he'll do fine but i doubt he'll be surgical in the league for the first couple years

I didn't mention a time line, just that I have been saying all along he has the best anticipation of anyone in this years draft. I think there are two ways a QB can succeed in this league ... one is the old school quick reads and quick decisions and the other is to have ability like Wilson, Jackson, Rodgers where you can buy time and make a play.

You know who looks like the real deal - Justin Herbert, his anticipation, decision making and athleticism is elite.
whats your comparison between the two as far as anticipation?

I have not watched enough of Herbert to distinguish. Being a west coast player I did not see him much in college and the same in his first year in the NFL. From what I have seen I wished the WTF had drafted him instead of Young and that is not a knockdown of Young. I say that because Herbert is going to be a bigger part of every game because of his position. But .... lets see if Herbert can do this for a few more years.

It was two #1's and a 2nd plus the swap to get RG3 moving from #6 to #2. When trading up for a QB its different rules. To go to #4 the Falcons will want multiple first round picks. They will ask for more than what the 49ers gave up to go to #19. I dont see it happening. If the Falcons traded down its probably with Denver, Philly, or the Pats. The starting price with those teams would be the swap a 2nd this year and 1st's in 2022 and 2023. Maybe cheaper for Denver.

our draft position precludes a chance at a trade without giving up too much . but we did win the division and went one and done though

I showed you what it was. A first in 2023 is considered an equivalent of a third rounder in value. I don’t value it like that but that is how the league values it.

I am not saying what will happen, because all of that is conjecture and information we don’t have. I am stating what the trade value chart states. You speak like you know things...you are guessing. That is why I stated at a minimum and going by the chart.

Im not guessing. Im going off the RG3 trade and what the 49ers gave up to go to #3. A first in 2023 is not viewed as a 3rd round pick. lol

The RG3 trade was far different. It was for the #2 pick, not the fourth QB taken.

I have already shown you the 49ers essentially gave up the equivalent to the chart to move up.

It is absolutely viewed like a third according to the trade value chart. For each year that passes from the current draft, future draft choices essentially lose a rounds value.

Hell, look at the Julio Jones trade...the Falcons moved all the way up to 6 from 27 and simply gave up 27, a 2 +4, and a 1 and 4 the following year.

OK, but that means wasting a season for your current players. If they get their QB next year, that means at least a year getting him settled with the team.
