Just heard on Brock and Danny that Clemons was cut this morning. Haven't seen anything on the web, but should come soon.

No surprise. Clem did good things for us so maybe he'll restructure and stay but no question he was eating to much cap space.

I think this is swapping out parts. Clemmons out, Allen in. Otherwise, didn't the Hawks have enough cap room this season to keep Clemmons on?

Since his injury his production took a hit... Plus the cap numbers were to high... This move was inevitable...

Well... that and the additions of Bennett, Avril and McDonald. It's harder to accumulate the stats you're used to accumulating when your team brings in three more guys capable of rushing the passer. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to a team where he doesn't have so much competition for sacks and other pass rush related stats.

7.5 mil saved with the cap by this cut.

Makes sense since Allen wants to get paid, but won't be getting anywhere near that where he signs.

Sorry to see Clemmons go, but just like Big Red, was going to be paid way to much in 2014 for what role they would play.

True… Maybe just maybe Clem will restructure a deal… Imagine Allen and Clem on the ends… Lord

Gus Bradley is obviously using the same blueprint PC and Schneider did with Seahawks. Gut roster, buildup the defense to keep you close in games, take your time with building the offense. Build mainly from the draft, but don't rush out and draft any QB just because your the new coach. Wait till the right guy comes along. Improve the the roster depth with signing FAs who are past their prime, but still got some game left so you don't have to break the bank.

Bradley will have Jax out of dumpster fire territory in good time. You already saw them playing better in the 2nd half of 2013 and the players weren't quitting on him.
