Weird that Jagmeet was one of the leading “banning flights from China is racist!” voices last winter...

Yes you did lol - I'm starting to wonder if we're going to have two hub cities in Edmonton and Calgary, you know Kenney isn't going to issue a lockdown.
Yah ... its kinda funny how bc has the lowest case count per 100k population of all the provinces with nhl teams yet they are the holdout on allowing nhl games :noidea: ... and alberta has almost triple bcs number and its business as usual :noidea:

Not funny at all. Makes sense that the areas doing the best job containing the virus want to protect themselves from other areas that are not.

It is pretty much a lockdown here in Alberta. Retail shops are open (15% capacity) but everything else is closed. Except churches of course because Kenney would NEVER let that happen.

BC isn’t doing the best job. They’re a few cases off of Ontario’s rolling 7 day infection rate and basically everything is still business as usual - restaurants open for dine in, schools all open (until now for the break), malls packed etc. while Ontario is locking down. They only mandated masks here a bit over a month ago.

BC’s basically the poster case for a jurisdiction that did things well at the start and squandered it.

Really, it's tough to say any politician in Canada has done a particularly good job of anything during this shit. I guess you can point to the Atlantic Bubble and pat those premiers on the back but the entire population of Atlantic Canada is less than Metro Vancouver and about as spread out as can be.

I was just speaking from a strictly nhl season / covid related perspective... its funny to me that this is the hill our provincial govt is being seen to die on when the cases are lower here even with their moderate comparatively speaking intervention.

trending shows even with that moderate intervention here in BC ... we’re bending the second wave curve ... other provinces are dropping the hammer on their citizens now (thus their curves will bend in 14 to 28 days) and the media is saying they’re all in for nhl :noidea: dont know if its the typical cheerleading from the Toronto sports types or they arent following the real news in their provinces

Lowest daily new cases (444) since Nov 5th.
Surrey a shit-storm, Vancouver doing well.

Three days in a row less than 500 cases.
