Yes. This is apparently the case. OSU no makey de playoffs.

The locals are apoplectic.

If only they weren't afraid to play Maryland a few weeks back.
:behindsofa:

Some people are suggesting that Ohio State play Texas A&M as both teams need a game to make the playoffs.

/In a similar vein to that Coastal Carolina - BYU game that was played last week.

I don't understand why any college is continuing to play sports at this point. One season of football or basketball is not that important. It's been a mess. Just stop it already and make plans for the summer of 2021 and beyond.

Our cases are 8-10 times what they were in March/April. ICUs are being flooded.

It'd be like closing school the day after you have 4 inches of snow (humor me, Canadians) and then opening schools the next day after 32 inches gets dumped. Makes no sense. And while I understand compelling reasons that livelihoods need to be maintained when it comes to small businesses, jobs, etc. You can't apply the same arguments to amateur sports, especially without crowds. Especially when we know that young people are NOT going to adhere to social distancing guidelines off the field/court.

College athletics continuing on was misguided from the jump and it's time to pull the plug...

I'm $ure there'$ a rea$on. Doe$ anybody have any gue$$e$ a$ to what it i$?

College football is huge bucks, especially those lucrative TV contracts. Even with the mess that it is, they're still getting something from the networks, and that's pretty much all they care about.

And tuition/enrollment is down too with people deferring a year or going to community college rather than pay full price for online classes. That money is a lot more important right now.

A witness who attracted national attention after testifying at the side of Rudolph W. Giuliani about alleged voter fraud in Michigan says she is not self-quarantining and has not been tested for the coronavirus in the wake of Giuliani’s positive test and hospitalization.

In a phone interview Tuesday from her home in the Detroit suburbs, Carone told The Washington Post that she was living her life normally and had no plans to change that. She said she was unaware of the health advisory and was not worried about contracting the virus. “I would take it seriously if it came from Trump, because Trump cares about American lives,” Carone said, adding that if television networks friendly to Trump such as One America News or Newsmax “told me to go get tested, I would do it.”

Lol. Yeah the guy who doesn't attend the committee meetings for the worst public health crisis in American history cares about American lives.

Your bolded comment should come from the Onion or an SNL skit but nope that is real life.

Way too scary, sort of like the stuff @scoutyjones2 is posting about the AZ GOP.
