So Trump has described this as a war, but he...

• Didn't use intelligence before the war began (Jan/Feb) to prepare the citizens and troops properly.
• Is routinely not consulting with his top general (Fauci) about the battle plan.
  
• Has repeatedly refused to mobilize industry to support the war effort.
  
• Has repeatedly set unrealistic timelines (Easter, summer, etc.) in regards to the end of the war...
• ...that will just end because...magic?
  
• Doesn't want us to be receiving any intelligence (testing) on the enemy.
• Has not developed a plan for our troops, but has told the state militias to handle it.
• Briefly brainstormed that we should mustard gas ourselves so the enemy couldn't get us.
  
• Has encouraged citizens for months to harbor the enemy (not wear masks).
  
• Wants to send kids to school in the middle of the battle.

Does this sound like a successful plan to win a war?

Maybe that's why more people are dead from COVID-19 (140K+) than the combined total number of all U.S. military deaths (combat and noncombat combined) for EVERY engagement since the end of World War 2 nearly 75 years ago. Think about that... more deaths in 4 months than 75 years of warfare from a country that REALLY likes to go to war.

There is no doubt that whoever was leading our country through this was going to struggle and people would have died. But this is without question or deniability an abject, total, and complete failure of leadership.

It's a failure of our country not to have developed a comprehensive plan that ensures people have housing and health care before this hit our shores. But it's an especially massive failure of our President who cannot even meet the bare minimum of reading his briefings, having concern for the citizens of the country he governs, or the ability to look past his concern for his own ratings/crowd size, much less be an actual leader and solve problems.
