I believe there is no opt out but a no trade clause
Most definitely.Guess that takes them out of the Cespedes running?
The market for Upton and Cespedes is shrinking by the day. Someone is going to get one HELL of a bargain.
I can definitely see them both taking one year deals and trying again next year.
That's a lot of money for a guy who already failed a PED test

Quit kidding yourself. You think he's a gym rat?It wasn't really a traditional illegal PED like a steroid or HGH.
It is a very legal drug that is 100% allowed in baseball.
Something like 50% of all minor leaguers legally take that drug...and around 25% of the Major leaguers.
It is quite common as long as you have a prescription.
Davis got busted because he continued taking it long after his original prescription ran out.
He is back on it legally and will be allowed to use it for the entire season legally.
I don't lump him the same way as Steroid or PED guys with illegal drugs.
If upton is willing to take a one year deal, I want Texas to make it happen.
I think he'd be a good fit there. Definitely worth giving up the pick to get him in my opinion, especially in that ballpark. If I had a choice, I would've rather have had him than Cespedes, not that I would've minded getting him either.
Orioles overpaid big time for Davis, think they'll regret this 1.
That is not a Ryan Howard deal, though. Howard was hurt within weeks of the signing and NEVER gave the Phils any value, IIRC.It looks like another Ryan Howard signing to me. The O's will benefit for the first year or two then will be regretting the rest of this contract.
