I tend not to question Lovie's defensive draft picks, they usually pan out. So I will take a wait and see approach.

He could be the next Urlacher for all I know? I just want a day 1 starter with my first pick, and OLB doesn't seem to be much of a need?? We'll see.

Alshon Jeffrey with the No. 2.... Big target for Jay...hope he develops into a stud. Could see him challenging for time right away, considering what we currently have.

I was absolutely pissed when McClellin was picked. There were other players on the board (Castro/Reiff) that could have helped a great deal. Today, not so much. He played everywhere at BSU and he'll have some time to grow. I love the Jeffry pick, as long as he keeps in shape. But Hardin??? Really???

Fucking despise the 4th pick. A Fullback!!?? That almost rivals Jacksonville taking a GD punter in the 3rd rd.

I waited around this morning to see a GD fullback taken?? Ugh..

So, I guess he may play TE?? Spaeth, Davis...how many TE's we need? Can we get a re-do on the Olsen trade?

1st Rd=huge letdown :confused2:
You have to remember Lovie's #1 mission in life - the ONLY thing that matters to him is beating the Packers. He must have seen the mock draft boards that had McClellin being picked by the Pack & figured he'd beat them to it.

Never forget it - the ONLY thing that matters is beating GB! [SBs = waste of energy]
I think Lovie's the best! He just seems so blinded to the big picture by the Green & Gold to the north he keeps staring at.

I loved the Packers draft.

I guess McClellin is going to be competing for DE spot? I don't see him beating out Izzy, but what do I know? Alshon Jeffrey(sp?) could turn out to be a great pick. He should get a great opportunity to get some playing time, with Knox on the mend. The rest of the Bears picks, I don't know much about.

I think the NFC North will be a dogfight this year.

I think you're right!

Although it's not like it takes a clairvoyant to call that one.
It's still the BLACK & BLUE division, right?
That's why we love it [it's the best inter-division rivalries in sport - IMO].

While our draft was so-so, the Bears had the best Free Agency of any team in the league this year IMO. Getting B. Marshall for pennies on the dollar. Jason Campbell and Michael Bush were tremendous pick-ups as well.

I think this the most talented Bears squad in some time.

I saw that. Apparently they were impressed with how the city handled the NATO summit. If they do get a SB, they need to fix the damn field, that's for sure.

i also read the probowl might be a thing of the past, i think it would be a good idea, no one watches it anyway, i would rather see them play a play off losers scrimmage game instead personally , just let the nfc and afc championship losers play a game. i think all the fans would like that,

or let the two teams in the league with the worst records play each other, it would still be more exciting than a game that no one really cares who wins or loses. the pro bowl is always boring, a third of the players who get in dont play in it anyway, its just a recognition of the players who get voted in by the players and coaches in the league, and now the superbowl players dont get to play . if players are going out there and stand a chance of getting hurt they should at least make it a game that is watched by real fans.

I can't believe all the players the bears have brought in this season. if we don't get right it won't be because of lack of talent, this is the most quality free agents we have brought in to fit our needs since i have been watching the bears, and thats since like 1972.

and i personally have alot of confidence in mike tice, i read recently that when he was with the vikings as head coach his offense ranked in the top 4 in yardage 3 times in four seasons, i could see alot of improvement last season just in blocking alone. the thing is he likes physical players annd he won't put up with whiners, he likes to utilize the tight ends and run the ball enough to keep teams from being able to blitz the QB, thats takes alot off the offensive line, when an offensive line is run blocking they get tougher, they are pushing the defense backwards instead of being zapped byt blitzing linebackers and safeties, if we can steadily run the ball 3 or 4 yrds at a time the safeties have to stay at home and the linebackers get worn down, it makes a huge difference,

our draft was good too, it is good we finally have an aggressive General Manager now. angelo was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to conservative, i can't believe we put up with him so long. but he did leave us with a good base roster, he just wouldnt step up and bring any big time recievers,

Nice to see ya Briggsy...have ya checked out any of the other forums here?

I dunno about our draft yet...I like the Jeffries pick....it'll all be contingent on what McClelin does...if he's a bust, the draft was a bust IMO.
