But would you not agree that the scrutiny is well founded? I mean, it's no secret with which they are willing to go to gain an edge to win.

Like most teams/coaches in the league. Which makes it an offense to be punished (severely or not) but not something that is the only the Patriots alone. Most successful teams who did the same in the past would have had just as many Asterisk's as the Patriots. It just as much as about their success and arrogance as the actual infractions themselves.

It's precedent and I have no idea what you are on about now as I said neither.

As for precedent in this case compared to the entirely unrelated ones you posted, how many of them had the players involved lie directly to an independent investigation team, get caught lying, and then refused to cooperate after that? And how many of them were on the tails of continued cases of cheating and/or generally skirting the rules by the same team? There's your precedent.
