No it doesn’t. I didn’t ask for big contracts that were handed out. I asked for marquee free agents that chose to go to Boston. Don’t waste your time on this one...it doesn’t happen.max level players

Both guys had multiple max offers. No it doesn’t. I didn’t ask for big contracts that were handed out. I asked for marquee free agents that chose to go to Boston. Don’t waste your time on this one...it doesn’t happen.
I don’t know what you have in mind. He tried it with Kyrie and it didn’t work. He passed on trying with Davis and I think that was the right call. Other than that?? Not sure what other chances he really had.
Hard to blame Ainge at all. He did the best he could with the knowledge that marquee free agents never want to go to Boston.
Ainge drafted well. Ainge traded well. But it isn’t enough in a league that really is dictated by superstars.
Exactly. When Ainge got a top pick he didn’t miss. I’m sure some of his later picks didn’t pan out, but they rarely do. I’m not sure who he could have drafted that he missed. And nobody bats .1000 anyway.
Ainge is the architect of the Garnett-Allen-Pierce Title team. He almost put another title contender along the way. I’d give him a solid “A” overall for his performance. I get it that it’s time to move on, though.
Stop it. Nobody is buying these as top tier guys. Everyone laughed when he signed Horford. And I don’t think Hayward has ever even made an all star team? This is not what I had in mind. Both guys had multiple max offers.
they chose Boston
No disputing that.Garnett was wrapped up in a bow as a gift from his former teammate Lurch. Better offers for Garnett were ignored to send him to Boston.
Maybe so. But other than Davis, I haven’t heard any scenarios where he could have gotten involved.Ainge was a bit too precious with his draft trade assets IMO. Better moves could've been made. He was also cursed after dumping IT.
It was time for Ainge to go. But I'm skeptical of Stevens in the role. Rarely does the Head Coach/President role ever work out.
he’s not doing both
Maybe so. But other than Davis, I haven’t heard any scenarios where he could have gotten involved.
Ah, got ya. I see that now.
Good. Because if Stevens was going to do both that's just a failure waiting to happen. Got any ideas on who could replace Ainge?
Oh dammit asked the wrong question. My bad. Meant to ask who could replace Stevens as HC.
no idea.
my guess it will be a very uninspried list.
but sometimes that works out
Top bets right now are Sam casell, Chauncey billups, jerry stackhouse.Anyone you'd like to see as the next HC? I'd prefer someone with NBA ties. Not many college to NBA coaches have success. And I doubt the Celtics would luck-out like that two times in a row. But I really can't think of anyone at the moment.
