The point of this is not to bash the Panthers, but to ask why is it only a controversy when it allegedly involves the Patriots?

"NFL aware of game ball incident during Panthers-Vikings":

ESPN said:
The Minnesota Vikings played their coldest home game in 38 years on Sunday, when they beat the Carolina Panthers in 12-degree temperatures at TCF Bank Stadium.

As both teams dealt with the freezing temperatures, Fox cameras showed sideline attendants using heaters to warm up game balls, which is against league rules.

ESPN said:
The footage shown on NFL Network is from the Vikings' sideline, though there are attendants from both teams on both sidelines and a league source said the Vikings weren't heating up the balls during the game.

It's a freaking joke the NFL is allowing teams to be in charge of their footballs.

:agree: No matter pats or panthers...what's the point of it? Refs should be responsible and we wouldn't have to waste time discussing this crap.

:agree:Couldn't agree more. I can`t see the NFL finding fault with NE it would open up pandoras box. NE could simply come back with chain of custody concerns once the IN players, coaches... all supposedly had hands on it. Maybe they had a vendetta? Or they could claim the weather effects...

Having said that if the NFL checks all 12 balls and finds them all abnormal then we have an issue. Otherwise is it just one ball that Brady knows is in the game for that play to throw it deep? Otherwise what value would it serve?
