If you want there's a fanbase in Long Island dying for a winner. So if you want to swap franchises by all means please do so.

but you'd get Luongo back :heh:

lol. no, I'm good - I just want it all.

I'm not up in arms but I think the kid should have gotten an invite. Same goes for Sean Monahan of the Ottawa 67s. Just turned 17 and has 36 points in 20 OHL games.

I didn't think he would make the team but thought he might at least get an invite. I saw him play once and he looked pretty good, scoring 2 of his team's 3 goals. His time will come I'm sure. He just happens to be from the same hometown and went to the same U.S. prep school as Crosby so people can't help but make comparisons.

A lot of Halifax Mooseheads' fans are up in arms over the fact that Nathan MacKinnon didn't at least get an invite. The 16 year old has been putting up impressive numbers in the Q and is being touted as the next "next one". He's an early favourite to go 1st overall in the 2013 draft. He'll likely make the team next year as a 17 year old and that will be his coming out party.

Nothing like the snub to motivate a guy...

Well RNH may not be there, but there will be a token hyphenated NHL player there. TSN is reporting that the Ducks are going to allow Devante Smith-Pelly to play as well.

No such luck with the Panthers and Erik Gudbranson, however...

A tweet from Bobby Mac:

Shocking, I know, but Seguin, Skinner, Nugent-Hopkins, Johansen, Couturier not being released to Canada's nat'l junior team.

Love looking down the team USA list every year. You've got your standards, dudes from Eden Prarie, Ann Arbor, Ithaca, , Brainerd (LOL), and now we're starting to get Texas, Vegas, and Jacksonville on this list. We're looking solid in net (two U of M snubs, bastards) and The Big Man John Merrill. Up and Etem is a no brainer, and nice to see a legit NHLer in Faulk on the team.

Maybe Team Canada would have been better off had Brett Connolly not been loaned to them. So far he's been more of a liability than an asset. He hurt fellow returnee Quinton Howden with an illegal (boarding) hit in tonight's intra-squad game.

Yesterday he was the one that got hurt in the intra-squad game and earlier in the day he had cramped up during practice. Are we sure we have the right Connolly or is this guy Tim's Canadian cousin?

I just saw the hit. It hasn't made its way to Youtube yet but it can be seen on TSN.ca. I only saw it from 1 angle but it doens't look that bad to me other than the fact it was only a scrimmage and both players involved are pretty much locks. But had it happened in an actual game I'm not sure if it would be considered illegal after all. The TSN panel didn't like it but it looks like Howden is directly against the boards before Connolly touches him so I'm not sure why that would be called boarding.

Both Flames prospects sent packing - Kinda surprised about Reinhart.

Canada's world junior team cut seven players from its selection camp in Calgary on Tuesday morning to bring its roster down to 35.

The cuts included 17-year old Red Deer defenceman Mathew Dumba, Rimouski blueliner Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Brenden Kichton of the Spokane Chiefs, Mark McNeill of the Prince Albert Raiders, Brandon forward Michael Ferland, Saint John Sea Dogs forward Zack Phillips, and Kootenay forward Max Reinhart.

Dumba, 17, is a highly-touted blueliner who is expected to be taken high in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The Calgary native was disappointed to receive the news despite being the youngest player in camp.

"It doesn't make it too much easier," Dumba told the Canadian Press. "I really wanted to make this team. I felt I was ready to maybe play as that seventh defenceman.

"It was real hard to wake myself up this morning and pack myself up. It's emotional, but I'll get through it. This experience is great."

Head coach Don Hay and Hockey Canada head scout Kevin Prendergast will make a final round of cuts on Wednesday morning to establish a final 22-man roster.

"Hopefully Canada can still go home and bring home the gold," said the 18-year-old McNeill. "There's still an opportunity next year for me for sure."

"I thought I had a good game the first game," explained Ferland. "I don't think I had that good of a game (on Monday) night. "It's a short camp. You've got to be ready to go from the start."

Four goalies, 11 defencemen and 20 forwards remain at camp. Team Canada's hopefuls have one final chance to audition on Tuesday night when they face a group of CIS All-Stars in Calgary.

No OHL players were cut today. Five from the WHL and two from the QMJHL were sent packing.

a little late if anything, but yeah he just hit Howden straight on... was just the wrong angle to absorb the hit.

Can't wait to watch this. Thanks for the Team USA roster link Puck.

Canada looks loaded. Hopefully Jack Campbell can pull some more magic out of his arse. I'll miss my boy Danny Kristo. That kid was fun to watch.

The only place Canada is shaky is between the pipes (which is odd because it used to be a strength).
