Here's a question to blow everyone's mind. What if Miami goes undefeated? Wins against FSU, Florida, FSU/Clemson in title game and Va Tech. What happens then?

Clemson would have a better shot than FSU because they would have beaten 2 strong SEC teams (they would essentially be the SEC East champions).

Right now, I would say Clemson and FSU have the best chance to play in a title game if they're undefeated out of the ACC; both are already in the top 15 and would be easily top 5 if they finish undefeated. Miami could be, but they started a lot further behind, but I would agree those three could be interchangeable in this scenario (assuming they go 13-0).

Do we get a banner for that?

But couldn't FSU or Miami use that as an argument also? They both would beat Clemson who beat Georigia and South Carolina plus they both beat Florida.

Also, Miami is in the top 15 at 14 in both polls.

Is it possible that FSU/Clemson would get a National Title birth over a 12-1 SEC team?

They SHOULD, but who knows?

If Clemson wins out, the only way they get kept out of the game is that Bama and Oregon have also won out.

I suppose, but the transitive property is a pretty lame argument. I was simply saying that if any of those three end up undefeated, they would each have a good argument as to why they should be in the title game. And I didn't realize Miami had gotten into the top 15 already; good for them.

stanford and oregon have to lose for any acc team to have a shot.

Doubt it; if Clemson finished 13-0, their resume would be just as impressive as Oregon or Stanford.

Unbeaten FSU or Clemson would most definitely have a better resume than Stanford. Oregon as well.

Back to the original point: clearly you two gents think that Clemson or FSU would get in over an undefeated Pac-12 champ.... would they get in over a 12-1 SEC team?

I'm not so sure that 13-0 Clemson would jump 13-0 Oregon. Poll bias, what have you.

Regarding Clemson and Oregon/Stanford resumes. Honestly all 3 resumes would be about the same. If unbeaten Stanford would have beaten, ASU, Washington, UCLA, Oregon and 3 more top 50ish opponents in Utah, Oregon State and Notre Dame/USC. And then either ASU/UCLA in the Pac 12 CG more than likely. That's 9 opponents who more than likely will finish in the top 50 of the computers. Oregon would have essentially the same resume but slightly weaker as they get Colorado in the other division.

Clemson would have UGA, FSU, Maryland, South Carolina and either VT/Miami more than likely. IMO the rest of their schedule is slightly weaker with opponents like NC State, Wake, BC, Syracuse and Virginia.

In the end I think Oregon/Stanford will be ahead in the computers and the human polls. Clemson needs one of them to lose outside of the game they play each other IMO.

I think Clemson have a great chance to do it. Can't see FSU winning road games in Clemson/Florida and beating Miami at home

Clemson if they don't drop the ball all they really have to do is win a tough one on the road in South Carolina.

They will be favorite in every game except South Carolina
